This dishwasher's touchpad and control panel assembly make up the main control unit of the appliance. This part is designed for installation on the front panel of several brands of dishwashers. The touchpad is in the front and contains the buttons that control the main functions of the dishwasher. Wash, rinse, and temperature control can all be toggled through the touchpad, sending vital information to the control board located to the rear of this component. If the touchpad no longer responds to commands, a replacement control panel assembly should fix the problem. A voltage tester can indicate whether this is the problem. To install this part, unplug the dishwasher from its main power source and slide from the wall or counter. The perimeter of the dishwasher door holds screws that can be removed to take off the front panel and trim. After removing the front panel, open the dishwasher door and remove the fastening screws for the control panel assembly that are located on the top edge of the door and sides. Push the fastening clips around the control panel assembly and the component should pop out. Unhook the wire harness and make note of the wiring diagram for replacement. Repeat these steps in reverse to install the new part. This Whirlpool dishwasher touchpad and control panel assembly is a genuine OEM product sourced directly from Whirlpool. This part is only available individually and is not included with any other components. This part is compatible with Whirlpool, JennAir, KitchenAid, and Kenmore appliances.
