The Spark Module is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges and cooktops, designed to generate and control the ignition spark for the burners. This component ensures that each burner lights reliably and safely when the control knob is turned to the ignite position. By producing a high-voltage electrical spark, the spark module ignites the gas released by the burner, allowing for the cooking process to begin. It's a key part of the appliance's operation, ensuring both performance and safety.
The causes behind these issues can often be traced back to a malfunction within the spark module itself, which may result from normal wear and tear, moisture exposure, or electrical surges. A faulty spark module can lead to inefficient burner operation, potentially causing gas leaks or preventing the appliance from being used for cooking.
Symptoms of a failing Spark Module include:
- Burners not igniting when the control knob is turned
- Intermittent ignition or failure to maintain a flame
- Continuous sparking when the burner is on or off
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Two of my four burners would light up Evan W. • Mount Rainier , MD • August 29, 2014
I tried swapping the cables around by putting the cables from the burners that would light onto the ones that didn't light. When I did that the problem would move. So this is how i determined that the issue was with this module and not the burners or cables.
Once this new module arrived it was simple to disconnect the old one and put the cables back on the new one. I tested it (holding by breath!) and then all of the burners started. HOORAY!
