This is the front half of the outer tub that encloses the wash drum and holds water during the wash and rinse cycles. It forms a watertight seal with the rear tub half and includes the opening where the door boot seal attaches. Replace this assembly if the tub is cracked, leaking water onto the floor, or if the drum bearing seat is worn out and causing excessive noise during the spin cycle.
