Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Detergent and rinse aid dispenser stopped working   Donald L. • Rochester , MI • April 18, 2020

Bought the replacement dispenser from APPros.com (of course). The video shows a front control panel, and our dishwasher has the 'hidden' control panel on the top of the door. So here's the difference: 1) You need to take out all the screws, except the two near the latch at the top. The other video shows only taking out the bottom six screws because the remainder of the screws hold the front control panel. I used a couple paint cans with rags on top to hold the corners of the door when... Read more

  • The dispenser door not opening or closing correctly
  • Residual detergent left in the dispenser after the cycle

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Soap dispenser wouldn't close door kept falling down   Graeme M. • Branford , CT • October 07, 2017

First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Burned out motor and broken (stripped thread) rinse aid dispenser   Norman G. • Winters , CA • October 20, 2015

Repair parts arrived super fast. Installed the new parts according to the supplied instructions. All went well. It took over 2 hours because the unit had to be removed after the water and power were disconnected and then the initial problem diagnosed (motor brushes worn beyond service limits). The removal of the spray bar tower assembly was a challenge until it was discovered that the tower unscrews in a CW direction from the bar that then allowed access to the attachment screw that holds that... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Liquid detergent draining from smartdispense reservoir   John B. • Midland , TX • February 21, 2015

Very easy repair. Remove front door bottom panel (3 lowest screws from inside of door on left side and right side with #2 Philips screwdriver). Then remove 2 screws on bottom of door with socket set, I believe 1/4". I also used a mirror so I could see what I was doing. Remove cover and the detergent dispensing Asm has 2 screws to hold it down, a hose clamp to hold hose in place and a quick connect electrical connector. Just replace the part and re-install the door and that is it. Part # is... Read more
