This GE Oven Safety Valve is an OEM replacement part for GE ranges. The part's primary function is to prevent gas from releasing until the igniter has received enough voltage to ignite it safely. Not allowing any gas to exit before ignition helps avoid potential safety hazards from uncombusted gas. Causes for failure could include wear and corrosion over many years of use. Repeated heating and cooling stresses may cause cracking or breaking in the valve's delicate regulating components. Mineral deposits or dirt buildup may also obstruct proper opening and closing. Symptoms of a faulty safety valve would include:
This GE OEM part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA and select Kenmore models.

This surface burner control valve regulates gas flow to a single cooktop or range burner, allowing smooth ignition and precise flame adjustment. Replace a worn or stiff valve to restore consistent, reliable burner control.
APP Tech & Sales staff helped me diagnose the problem, we agreed that it was "most likely" the Safety Valve. It arrived the next day and I just installed it.BINGO! Just in time.My reward is my wife's awesome Christmas cookies. It was reassuring to know that I could return the part if it didn't solve the problem especially since I had already wasted money on a misdiagnosed part from another supplier that doesn't accept returns. I'm not too handy and you have to take the door off and a bunch of... Read more
This gas valve control regulates the flow of gas to a burner in your range, enabling reliable ignition and precise flame adjustment. Replacing a worn valve restores smooth knob operation and consistent burner performance.
I found I could "rap" on my broiler/oven control valve and the oven would light, so I ordered a new control valve. Installing valve was not difficult except for having to lay on the floor and work in a small space. After installation, the oven lit only ONE time...and the boiler/oven problem was unchanged....broiler would light, but not oven. (Both incandescent pilots would glow brightly, so I did not suspect the igniter/pilot.) A friend suggested I swap ignitors anyway...and indeed, the... Read more
This control valve is an important safety feature found on many gas ranges. It's located inside the back of the range near the area where the buttons and controls are found. The reason the control valve is included in ovens is to prevent gas from moving to the burners if the igniter is not able to ignite the gas or there is no electricity. The control valve could be faulty if there is a smell of gas near the valve, the burner flame flickers, or the flame cannot be turned on high.In any of these situations, the control valve must be replaced. The repair is easy and takes only a few minutes. The bottom of the oven will need to be removed, which may require a screwdriver. After removing it, remove the flame spreader by taking out two screws and sliding it out of the oven. Remove the screw holding the oven burner tube and take it out to access the valve and replace it.This control valve is made to be compatible with RCA, Kenmore, Roper, General Electric, and Hotpoint ranges. It's sold as an individual OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer.

This genuine OEM part is an oven safety valve for gas ovens. The oven safety valve is designed to prevent gas from flowing to the burner assembly if the igniter is not hot enough to ignite the gas, or if no electricity is present. Over time, an oven safety valve can become inoperable due to excessive wear and tear. If the oven is no longer heating properly, not turning on, or no longer working as powerfully as it once did, the oven safety valve will need to be replaced. To replace this part, start by unplugging the oven and shutting off the gas supply. After that, move the range away from the wall. Use a wrench to unthread the nut to remove the gas supply tube from the safety valve. Next, open the oven door to gain access to the interior of the oven. Release the hinge locks that secure the door and pull the door off the oven. Remove the oven racks and proceed to unthread the screws that secure the oven's bottom panel. Once removed, locate the safety valve. Next, unthread the screw that holds the mounting bracket into place. Remove the old safety valve and align the new valve with its mounting bracket. Attach the wires to the safety valve terminals and reinstall the bottom panel and oven door. This replacement part is sold individually and is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand ovens.
The Safety Valve Assembly is an OEM part for GE gas ranges. It automatically cuts off gas flow if excess pressure develops, providing critical safety protection. Symptoms of a faulty safety valve include:
Causes involve worn seals, dirt/debris blocking valve ports, or cracked componentry from shock over time.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
This safety valve controls gas flow to the cooker's burner assembly, restoring regulated gas delivery for safe operation. It's a direct-replacement-style valve used when the oven or range won't heat or won't light properly. What it does:
This valve lockout mounting clip secures the appliance's gas valve actuator to help prevent unintended valve movement and ensure consistent operation. It replaces a worn or broken lockout clip to restore reliable valve positioning. What it does:
Weird deal. Gas pressure had dropped due to low propane. This allowed the pressure at the regulator to drop below the set pressure, opening the regulator. A slight seepage past the valves must have allowed the smell. Propane tank was refilled and the gas smell disappeared. The plus for AppliancePartsPros was the ease of returning the valve and regulator I did not need. The folks were friendly and the process moved quickly. I'll continue to use them! Read more
This safety valve controls gas flow to the range/oven burner and helps ensure reliable ignition and shutoff for safe cooking. Replacing a worn valve restores proper gas delivery and can stop intermittent heating issues. What it does:
This dual-type oven safety valve controls gas flow to the oven burners, restoring safe, reliable delivery of fuel for baking and broiling. Use it when the oven won't heat or gas flow needs proper regulation. What it does:
After moving a 20 year old GE XL44 stove, we began to notice a faint propane smell from the oven. After dabbing soapy water over every connection, we could see it was coming out of the broiler nozzle. Using the AppliancePartsPro web site, we could quickly identify the valve part we needed. We assumed we would be without our stove (gas off for safety) for at least a week, but almost miraculously, it arrived the next day! A few simple tools in a hard to reach place and the repair was complete.... Read more

This oven safety valve controls natural gas flow to the bake/broil burners so the oven heats reliably and shuts off gas when not called for. Replaces a worn or failed valve to restore safe oven operation. What it does:
This safety valve assembly controls the flow of gas to the oven or range burner, restoring safe operation and allowing the appliance to heat when the valve opens. It replaces a faulty shutoff/regulator valve to help address heating issues. What it does:
