Turned the power off. Lifted the oven door up and off.to make access easier and to clean an replace gasket.Then unscrewed the element brackets. Cleaned oven. Took oven door apart to replace gasket ,you have to separate the door halves to clean window and get the gasket out. This is where you better take pictures and notes. Once you are resigned to disconnecting the exhaust fan system under the range so you can remove the range from the surrounding counter, the rest is easy. once out, its 8 screws to remove the top and 8 screws to remove the heating elements, and 2 simple wire conneop back onto the stovectors. This couldn't have been simpler! Removed the glass panel by taking out 4 screws on the bottom that were accessed by opening the oven door. Lifted up, then pulled the panel forward, released one electrical connection, and the panel was disconnected and could be laid on a flat surface. Left side hinge receiver for door hinge. For right side hinge receiver use WP4455606.
I was able to order new hinge receiver brackets for the door. The repair was not that bad. I just had to take off the lower door, take the two trim pieces off the sides and unscrew the screws holding the oven into the face of the cabinet. Then slide it out about halfway and put a step stool under the front to keep it from tipping over. I ordered a new burner and switch. Received all parts in only one day. Shut breaker, pulled out the range to work on it. Removed the front panel to replace the switch first which was the easy part of the job, only 6 screws. Installed new switch, turned on the breaker to test and found that the burner heated up proving that only the switch was bad. Shut breaker again, reinstalled front panel, reinstalled the range and turned the breaker back on. Just in time for Easter dinner! Returning... Read more
