Kenmore / Sears Tank Or Reservoir

I had a slow leak at the water inlet valve where the water line from the filter assembly connected to the water inlet valve. I determine that the water line had scratches in it which caused it to not seal. Had to buy the entire reservoir and filter assembly to get that water line. The replacement was smooth. It took about 30 minutes to swap out and it fixed the leak. Read more

Replaced tank assembly. Actually I think the supply hose was originally not fully seated in the tank and I think I could have re-seated it deeper through the gray bushing. When I set the line into the new tank, still leaking. Pulled out supply line and reset using a little more force and line went into the tank. Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose. After watching installation videos on each felt I could pull it off and ordered and received replacement water reservoir and water dispenser tube assembly. Every six months I change my refrigerator filter. I purchased a new filter (UKF8001) and installed it just like I've done many times before. This time, when I first used the water dispenser, I got a horrible sound (kind of like a jack hammer/vibration) followed by very little water flow. The storage device for water had a cracked fitting so when either the water or ice solenoid was activated the water ran into the compartment. I replaced the storage device (reservoir) once I figured out how to remove the upper cover in the top of the refrigerator. Replaced water reservoir, filter assembly, and water line via the provided instructional videos. The only problems I had where that the water line video had a different fridge layout (filter assembly was perfect), and the inevitable leak on one of the sharkbite-style connectors. I dread dealing with plumbing leaks, so I work on it a little, come back to it the next day, get a little further, etc. Read more

This part was easy to install by following the directions from other users here. As long as you get the right hoses connected in the right places, everything else was straight forward. Takes a few minutes for the tank to initially fill and pressurize and clear the air in the line and then you're on your way to clean fresh water! Read more

I had to replace all the water lines and valves because they were cracked or just simply blown apart. This last part was the final piece (and the most expensive) to get it back up and running. Tried going the cheap route and purchased waterline from another site that claimed the tube diameter was the same as what i needed, got the line installed it and had waterfalls everywhere (nice mess). Once top of washer is removed, there is a troubleshooting guide taped to the underside of the washer top. It verified the problem was the CCU (electronic control board). Before removing old CCU, have a plan for labeling the connecting wires; with tape & marker and a sketched diagram, because nothing is labeled and there are many wires. You need to slide the old CCU about 1 inch to the right in order to remove it. Looking at the new one will give you an idea of how the tabs fit into the washer... Read more
