• Door won't open after self cleaning cycle

Based on information found at AppliancePartsPros, I determined that the it was most likely the thermostat (thermal fuse). I removed the rear panel and tested the fuse for continuity and it was bad. I used a jumper wire to bypass the fuse and plugged the range back in. The panel turned on and the oven unlocked. I then removed the thermostat and looked up the replacement part and ordered. Check the power cord connection to the stove and found burned cable due to loose connection. Replaced the terminal and the nuts and installed a new power cord. Read more

What you will need: * replacement parts * small and regular Phillips screwdrivers * small wrench * soapy water in a spray bottle or leak detection spray Take apart the top of the stove control unit 1) turn off the gas to the stove, in my case I cannot get to the shutoff valve easily so I ended up turning off the electricity to the stove at the fuse box as that forces an emergency shutdown of the gas supply internally of the stove. 2) remove all 5 knobs, the grates at the top and open the oven... I replaced the hinges, which involved removing the door by opening it all the way, inserting a small allen wrench into the locking pin hole on each of the two hinges, partially closing the door and pulling it toward me. I then laid the door stainless steel face up on a table, removed the 8 screws from the edge and pulled the bottom of the face up and toward me. Replaced seal. Ordered seal on Monday, had it Tuesday. It was the exact seal for the oven. It took longer to clean up the oven around seal groove than to remove and replace the seal. Read more

First, I just unscrewed all nuts that are holding the frame and all surface elements. Once all parts, surface elements, control switches, are loose from the original glass, I just moved all parts to the new glass. Due to the weight of the glass, all actions have to be done carefully as I broken one corner of the glass couple of years ago when I replaced one of the control switch. Read more
