Kitchenaid Refrigerator Hose Or Tube

Kitchenaid Hose-Drain
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11381654

The Drain Hose is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It serves as the connection that allows dirty water to exit the dishwasher tub and flow into the water drain system after each wash cycle. The hose transports wastewater from inside the dishwasher out through the standpipe.

Causes of a bad drain hose can include mineral or food debris buildup blocking water flow within the hose, cracks or breaks in the plastic material from repeated bending, or a loose or damaged hose clamp connection.

Symptoms of a drain hose failure include:

  • Standing water remaining in the bottom of the tub after a cycle
  • Puddles or leaks developing near or underneath the dishwasher
  • Water failing to properly drain during the designated drain portion of cycles
  • Kinks or sagging appearing in the hose affecting water drainage

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water was leaking due to a break in the tube where it connected into the value   Deb L. • Manhattan Beach , CA • July 17, 2015

Replaced the tube. The original part number could not be found. This tube that we ordered had an curved connector at the bottom and a hard connector on top. The original tube had a right angle connector on the bottom and a smaller connector on the the top. The curve on the bottom worked. We had to cut the top connector off the tube for it to fit. We then secured it with the original metal bracket at the top. No leaks! All working fine now. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking onto floor as part of defrost cycle   Ken D. • Ithaca , NY • May 22, 2017

I went in through the lower back of my Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator, found a duck-bill end on the existing drain tube, and removed it. Less than a cup of water was released into the evaporator pan. I didn't need the drain tube I bought - and replacing it would have involved getting into the interior wall inside the freezer, which would have been a LOT more work. Most of my time was spent unloading the refrigerator and freezer before turning off the power. At least this gave me a... Read more
