Maytag Dryer Parts

I replaced the heating element and all of the thermal/high cutoff fuses and thermistors even though only the heating element tested "open" (there was a crack in the element) just to be safe. Also for the "jet airplane" sound the fan housing bearing was bad. I replaced that a well. Now it works like it should and is quiet again! I ordered all the parts necessary to replace the heating element and thermostat on a Sunday night. Appliance Parts Pros shipped on Monday AM and I received them on Wednesday. It took me 45 minutes to disassemble the dryer, replace the parts and have the dryer working again. It should be good for another 35 years which should cover me for my needs. Removed front of dryer panel, removed top, and removed drum. Replaced motor and wheel, because the old wheel was rusted on the motor shaft, and could not be removed, so I had to break it off. Replaced motor, and reassembled. Everything works now. I also replace the switch-Pb, because the start button was getting stuck. Read more

Changed Thermistor, Thermostats and the Thermal Fuse Assembly. I did not remove drum, so squeezing my hands in-between drum and vent hose pipe to remove screws was a tight fit, but doable. Read more

Un plugged dryer. It was an easy fix, popped the top up. Removed the two screw that held the front on and also unclipped the door switch. Released tension that was on belt and removed drum. Removed old front slides cleaned up area and replaced them. Popped the ring that held the rear drum wheels and placed the new ones with a dab of grease. Replaced the heating element, which came complete with the two thermostats, wiring harness, and the mounting plate. Installed the new element unit, plugged in the dryer and tested to be sure the new element worked. Read more
