Maytag Refrigerator Switch

I watched the video on replacing the switch on a side freezer where prying out to original switch did not look difficult. I then got on the floor and tried to pry out my switch. Had a terrible time (locking tab or switch body hardened with time?) and mangled the switch terribly and the upper panel of the freezer somewhat, but the switch did come out. • Not dispensing water

I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video and decided to remove the front panel to diagnose the problem. While the repair video is excellent, I could not remove the ice/water dispenser front panel with a putty knife. On my model, 106.56234400, there is no clip that can be released by sliding a putty knife up under the front panel. The timer knob simply pulls off the shaft with a solid, steady pull. Cleaned the timer cavity of lint/dust buildup. Aligned the keying flat of the shaft and knob and pushed the new knob on with careful, steady pressure until it was obviously seated. No tools required other than a vacuum. The door switch would sometimes not shut the dryer off when the door was opened. New switch came with new fast-on connectors. Order part and removed 3 hex head screws at top front edge of dryer and slightly lifted up on control panel to lift off pane. It has hangers that support panel while servicing. Remove 2 screws at inside top edge of dryer opening (where lever of switch protrudes) disconnect 3 wire clips at old switch and restore wire clips at new switch and place switch into position and restore 2 screws to secure switch body. We actually were able to determine that one of the freezer switches was bad and taped it down for about 3 days. The beeping stopped. Our fridge has two freezer switches and one fridge side switch. I ordered all three from these guys. They were cheaper than Whirlpool by about $20 for parts and about $15 for shipping. Our water started to hesitate before dispensing. This happened for about a week and then it stopped dispensing altogether. The ice maker was working, but when I put my ear above the dispenser, I heard no humming when depressed. Searched for a solution and watched some youtube videos and decided to try this part.
