On my Jenn-Air downdraft range, the oven stopped heating. The broiler still worked. So pulled the pan off the bottom so I could see and found the igniter wasn't glowing to start the gas. I had replaced the full electronic control panel using Appliance Parts Pros so knew they had the full breakdown of parts for my model. I found the igniter and ordered. I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. Took the stove apart*, saw where the mouse had made a nest. It was kind of like a hotel room after a rock star had used it. It was nasty, is what I'm saying. I removed the insulation, which immediately went into a garbage bag and was placed outside, whereupon I took off and nuked the site from orbit. Online videos made this seem an easy fix. I unplugged the oven and removed the rear panel, then found where the temp sensor entered the oven. I unplugged the sensor's electric connector. Unlike the videos, this sensor screwed in from the inside of the oven, so I had to remove the 2 screws inside the oven which hold the sensor in place. I have tried to remove the burner assemblies by removing the torx screws but they were badly rusted, and unfortunately they all were broken during removal. I just discarded the ruined orifices and assembled the new orifices and burner assembly. Read more

DIY. The delivery to Milwaukee took two days. The project was very easy and took about 1hr. The only tools required were a screw driver (electric) and a pliers. Just make sure your irganized with the screws so you don't lose any or mix up which ones go back in which holes. There's about 20 total screws. Replaced old igniter. also purchased new screws for burner and igniter assembly since old screws were corroded from spilled food/fluids etc over the years. made the installation much easier. If you need to replace a worn igniter, do yourself a favor and go to hardware store and get matching replacement screws or buy new with igniter. The lightbulbs were a problem for me as I did not know if they were 12 V or 120 V. But the interactive parts diagram on the website was very helpful and allowed me to order the correct bulbs very rapidly(120V is correct). They were very easy to change out except for the fact that I needed to have my 12-year-old son do part of it since his hands are smaller than mine.(and it is always good for sons to work with dads even on small projects like this.) Start by removing the frame on the sides and bottom of the door. (Do not unscrew the corner screw holding the side frame and bottom together.) Be careful the glass will fall once the last screw is removed from the bottom so hold tight. Carefully remove glass and set aside. Remove top frame that held the handle. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. One difficulty was that the threaded base plate where the legs screwed in had been damaged and had to be reshaped, I was able to reshape the sockets with some effort, to allow the legs to thread in, though one remained slightly angled. The replacement hinge unit arrived in just two days. The JennAire (Maytag) oven door is fairly typical in that it easily lifts off of the hinge bars. Once the door is off then removing two screws is all that's required to remove the hinge unit from the oven. The new hinge slides up into place and while you hold it up inside of its location putting the old screws back in is very easy. In an attempt to clean the range from the grease-gunk build-up, I had to remove the burner heads. Unfortunately, the 2 most used burner heads had immovable screws that locked them into the orifices underneath.
