The Water Inlet is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. This component controls the flow of water into the dishwasher during the wash and rinse cycles. It ensures that the appliance receives the appropriate amount of water necessary for optimal cleaning performance.
Causes of a bad water inlet can include mineral buildup from hard water, wear and tear from regular use, or electrical issues that prevent the valve from opening or closing properly.
Symptoms of a bad water inlet include:
- Dishwasher not filling with water or filling slowly
- Water leaking from the inlet valve area
- The dishwasher failing to start or complete cycles
- Error codes related to water intake issues
This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

I got E15 code occasionally i would slide it out and dry out with some paper towels and it would be fine again for a few months Vincent G. • Buffalo , NY • August 13, 2018
It finally gave E15 code, then after drying out the E15 code came back within 5 minutes of running. I dried out the base then I ran the dishwasher and observed water coming down the overflow chute after running only 5 minutes. There is a water inlet (clear water chamber on the side of the machine). It had some gunk inside that was stopping a black float shut-off from moving. I replaced the water inlet chamber. I also suspected the non return valve (also called a check valve). From the parts...

I contacted Appliance Parts Pros online and got troubleshooting advice. The advice I got was invaluable. I used the information I got from them and then ordered the parts they suggested and sure enough, my start problem was solved. The dishwasher is now working great! I was especially impressed with the friendly and professional ordering process from Stephanie C. that really helped with ordering the parts I needed.

Bosch dishwasher leaking jet dry at 4 years old Paul G. • Seneca , SC • July 22, 2018
I bought just the replacement lid based on other reviews. The door cost about a third of the whole soap dispenser module but took a chance it was just the lid. Although the part number is the same there was a new flange on the inside of the lid. Would have been nice if Bosch sent the redesigned part to owners. Either way replacement took 2 minutes and the problem is gone

E15 error code Sarah R. • Austin , TX • January 29, 2023
"Watertap" E15 error code indicated leaking. Dried it all out to allow it to run again. Ran dishwasher with front and bottom panels off to get a visual on leak causing the styrofoam float to set off the code. Saw it was coming from the diverter area. Ordered this assembly -- which DOES include the seal ring, by the way -- pulled dishwasher all the way out to replace it, and VOILA. No more leaking or error code. (This took a few days to analyze and receive the part, so in the meantime we...

Two small plastic parts had fallen off of my bosch dishwasher Robert H. • Chapel Hill , NC • May 18, 2015
I looked carefully at why this one row of tines might be wobbly and saw that the row of tines next to it was secured by these little plastic pieces that just seemed to snap on. So I Googled "parts for Bosch dishwashers" and Appliance Parts Pros popped up. I called the number on the website and the very nice person who worked on the phone asked for the serial number on the door of the dishwasher. Then I described what I needed. She identified it by my description. I ordered it, it arrived,...

Cord connecting spring to door hinge broke. John J. • Newtown Square , PA • February 24, 2019
Got new replacement spring and cord for our Bosch compact dishwasher. A plastic retaining bracket that held the old spring also was broke but the new spring had its own piece that fit into a slot in the plastic frame, so i just popped it in there, connected the cord, and bingo. The door now works. I tried using the old spring, but it would not work because of the broke bracket.

Bosch shem78w55n dishwasher leaking from bottom pan Francis S. • Vermillion , SD • May 26, 2020
Leak was slow but becoming gradually worse. Pulled dishwasher out from under counter then visually inspected sump while it ran. As soon as the water got very hot, I could see the sump leaking where it meets the stainless pan. Searched for the correct sump gasket without success. Turns out that the gasket is built into the sump for this model. The built-in gasket is very narrow (under-engineered IMHO which is probably why it developed a leak). Thanks to Simon's excellent videos at...

The Nut is an OEM component specifically designed for Bosch dishwashers. It secures the retaining clip housing of the rubber sump gasket in place at the base of the dishwasher's interior tub walls. Proper tightening prevents leaks and water damage.
Causes of a bad nut can involve stripping of threads from constant vibrations during heavy wash cycles over many years. Corrosion may also weaken metal connections exposed to moisture.
This OEM part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore dishwasher models.

Door closer cord broke. Martin C. • Jacksonville , FL • June 22, 2019
Originally had a repair done by a local, highly rated, repair service. One year later, door flopped open again. This time I ordered parts from AppliancePartsPro which arrive in two days. Repair was accomplished in one hour, after watching their YouTube video. Parts used by original repair service were not Bosch, were totally inferior. Thank you AppliancePartsPro.
