It was not looking good. I could not order the part I needed as it was part of the door - eve though it had screws att Hong it to the freezer door. At one web site it was a replacement of the whole freezer door!/? Luckily I ventured further and found this repair kit and video instructions. My order arrived in 3 days, and the install (thanks to the video) was easy. A whole lot better than buying a new freezer door - not! BTW - Whitlpool should not have made the tabs out of plastic, the metal... Read more

Even though the refrigerator is 13 years old, I was able to find replacement parts on your site. The DIY video provided on-line for each of the four parts ordered was very helpful ; even though my refrigerator wasn't exactly like the one in the video, it was still helpful. The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. This melt-then-freeze would happen, to the extent the chute froze to its own closure. Despite service technician visits over a period of six years nothing they did resolved the issue. A YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIdtNdDXFDk , by a professional appliance repair company described replacement of the freezer drain pipe with Kenmore's (by Whirlpool) revised drain pipe. Ice buildup inside the freezer was caused by warm air beneath the freezer contacting cold air from inside the freezer the resulting condensation freezing and blocking the drain, causing the ice buildup inside. The revised drain tube functions as a p-trap to prevent cold/warm air interaction.... Read more

Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Unscrewed two lower screws at bottom of unit holding black trim panel (that held wood panel in place) and lower black rubber flap. Removed two screws on lower outside side of unit that held the foot pedal. Slid off black U shaped metal frame from top of compactor towards bottom. Slid on... Read more
