I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. After looking at several YouTube videos, we decided we could attempt to fix this ourselves. We found the easiest video to follow from Appliance Parts, and ordered the clips and lid switch assembly (the clips we had to replace because we goofed that one ourselves). The parts were approximately 1/2 the price the local guy wanted. OEM parts. Perfect fit on replacement. The Whirlpool is so well made, it was very easy to repair. In the end, with a new coupler. But I relearned old lessons the hard way. The washer is in a rental unit and the tenant complained of no spin. I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. After shopping for a new Whirlpool Thin Twin Stack, Found appliance parts pros online and decided to take it apart to see if repair was a possibility. Removed cover from Whirlpool washer (~20 years old) and found water to be leaking from hose connection at Break Vac. Obviously the hose had to be replaced but the Break Vac looked corroded and partially plugged, too, possibly inhibiting water flow. While the cabinet was off I noticed the Suspension Spring was rusted off so I ordered 1 of those, too.
