I figured after 10.5 years that it might be time to replace the dispenser hoses because I was noticing black stuff in the dispenser trays. I replaced two or the four hoses and clamps on the far left side and for good measure the hot water inlet valve. Our 10-year-old LG WM2487HWMA front load washer had gradually developed multiple problems. I had a slow leak from the very front of my LG washer, so I was pretty sure that it was just the gasket leaking, and not any of the hoses. It's not a complicated repair, with the usual confidence-inspiring video from Matt. There are three things to be aware of: 1) I originally ordered the wrong gasket. My problem was a broken spider. I followed your excellent video, but have some additional input that should be incorporated in a new video showing the required upgrade procedures and parts required to repair an early model with damaged front tub half using currently available parts. Don't expect everything to go as easy as the video. 1) Used 4lb. brass hammer to drive shaft from bearings. 2) Torqued spider bolts to 20ft lbs. with thread locking compound. 3) attached rubber seal to front tub... After watching the video carefully and taking notes for step-by-step dismantling of the LG washer, I took it apart methodically placing each item on a table in the order removed. I was able to remove and replace the bearings with no problems following the tips and tricks. The spider did not seem to be in bad shape but since I had a new one, it seemed reasonable to replace it as well, but it was difficult to extract the old one from the drum. I originally thought the washer had a bad bearing, but once I got it disassembled it the spider arms were broken. This required the replacement of the tub assembly. While replacing the tub I replaced all of the water bellows. The parts came quickly, the live chat and videos were very helpful. This washer has to be completely disassembled to replace the drum, so mark all the screw locations, tag and bag everything and take lots of pics. I started by watching the video and it was very helpful. I would make one suggestion. On our model the weights on the tub sit very close to the front gasket. It is much easier to put the gasket on the tub before you put the weights on. Also, since the washer was tore apart, I replaced the hoses and seals and shocks since the machine is about 8 years old. The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it. As it would start to loosen up (as evidenced by the loud banging noise exhibited during operation); I'd shut it down, pull the top off, remove the weight (it was almost always half rattled off at this point), wrap the mount lugs with friction tape (the plastic lugs were being worn down/chaffed by the balance weight), put the weight back...
