Samsung refrigerator ice maker frosting up Todd F. • Arlington , VA • December 01, 2016
I replaced the ice maker after replacing the ice try and before that the ice chute gasket. All easy fixes. However, I am still seeing some frost build-up leading me to believe that the issue is just a faulty design, which I have read other posts on. Just too much warm air gets in the ice maker because it is located in the refrigerator, plus warm air probably finds its way from the outside dispenser, up the chute into the ice maker. Oh well, nothing the occasional hair dryer won't take care of,...

I noticed that the bottom of the plastic bucket was cracked even though it was less than two years old. I called Samsung and they wanted to charge me almost $200. Instead, I found the part at appliance parts pros for half that cost. Since I replaced the ice tray bucket assembly, my ice maker is working perfectly!

Displayed e1 error code the root cause was the sensor (thermistor) that got ripped off of the roof of the freezer Jon S. • Tuscarora , MD • February 21, 2015
Since I could not find the correct thermistor from the schematic provided, I ordered the thermistor harness for the evaporator. I cut the harness and spliced it to the sheared thermistor wires on the roof of the freezer compartment. It now works fine with a little "farmer ingenuity" help. Samsung was absolutely no help at all, but the guy that I spoke with over the phone at APP sure was. This site is now my "go to" for appliance parts! Tip for others with this model. Do not overfill the upper...

Plastic support bracket that secures the freezer handle to the door. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to properly mount your handle assembly.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Freezer door handle came off Vladimir A. • Charlotte , NC • April 04, 2015
Replaced broken handle support bracket (part #AP5620448) and cap (part #AP5620751). Used a phillips head screwdriver and allen wrench. Pliers also came in very handy.
If replacing cap and support bracket, be sure to install cap before support bracket, otherwise you'll have trouble installing the cap.
I ended up not needing to replace the fixer handle (part #AP4372038), but I'll keep it around just in case.

Samsung french door hinge flap hinge broken from spring Herman F. • Ventura , CA • April 20, 2016
I loosened middle hinge by the 2 screws which holds a power cord that clips together, then slid the hinge flap upward to release from the door. My bottom clip hinge was broken away from spring and the only way to attach a new hinge clip was to carefully separate the hinge flap. This can be done by squeezing the flap to see where the separation seams are. Small narrow screwdrivers along with a spatula will do without damaging the plastic. This allowed for acess

The tiny white knob broke off of top of french door small center piece and the center hinge was cracked Kristine H. • Duluth , MN • October 20, 2018
I ordered the French door housing, the new piece has a solid raised curved part that enters the guide, and a new center hinge. I watched both repair videos shown on appliance parts Pro. It looked pretty simple, so I got my 2 screw drivers and unplugged the refrigerator and started. The hardest part was removing the upper and lower hinges. The video didn’t show how he got them loose, after several minutes of frustration I figured out how to release the hinge. The new parts installed really...

I heard a cracking sound so I opened the freezer again and found that it was s piece of plastic -- a small bar -- that had broken off of something. I went online, first to identify the broken part. It was the ice guide. I had to do a bit more research to find out what the ice guide does, as well as the part number. I found it easily on appliancepartspros.com. (I think I purchased a new heating element for my electric oven from you and was able to fix it VERY easily. I was hoping this new repair...

Icemaker slowed and eventually stopped making ice; leak behind fridge Rachel J. • Long Grove , IL • July 10, 2020
My husband figured that the line to the icemaker was either clogged or had frozen over. We found some posts of people defrosting the icemaker by just leaving the freezer door open or with a hairdryer or space heater, but this seemed to be only a temporary fix so we didn’t do that. Lots of videos out there for Samsung through-the-door top icemaker as, but it was difficult to find any advice for our bottom freezer style (RF261BEAESR). But the parts diagrams on Appliancepartpros are very useful...
