Tiphliz for Model Number FFHS2622MSYA

fridge starting acting up since a few power outages.. So I hired a repair guy to come out to fix it.. They came, and required 200 down payment and then never showed up and refuse to answer any of my calls.. So trust issues now... I get the errors, and beeping.. The freezer will maintain its numbers at 9 while the fridge part sometimes stay cold and other time it doesn't.. Its has ice build up, which I have thrawed and removed twice... I have replaced the circuit board.. I am planning to replace the temp sensor that goes through the fridge and other part goes into the freezer.. do you think the temp sensor will be the only thing I need to replace?? Thanks for your time.. Tiph

Tiphliz, If the control board has been replaced and the evaporator continues to frost up, this would be more likely that the defrost thermostat is faulty and would need to be replaced. The defrost thermostat would be part number 5303918214.

Jeff for Model Number FFHS2611PFEA

I have a frigidaire ffhs2611pfea. I am getting the H1 error on the freezer read out. The coil behind panel in freezer was partially frozen. I thawed it out and retried. It began to freeze up again and errored again. I replaced the defrost thermostat. Was cheap and easy. That did not solve the error code though either. So everything I can research would lead to the thermister? Or the control board. I have the freezer set to 5 and fridge to 5. The temp in freezer is 30 degrees but fridge is 47 to 44 degrees. If I turn up any more I will get error. Just seeing if my research is correct before I order. Compressor is running...

Hello Jeff, the HI code refers to the freezer temp too warm, if the compressor, condenser fan, evap fans are running, then likely this is a sealed system problem, either a faulty compressor or a freon leak, a service tech would need to check the ref further at this point.

Scott, the error H1 is going to indicate a high temperature in the unit. It would be recommended that the evaporator is inspected to identify if it has become blocked up with ice or if there is very little Frost on the evaporator. If there is an ice block, there is a defrost failure that would need to be addressed. If there is less than half of the evaporator covered in a light frost coat and the compressor has been operating for more than an hour, the condenser coils are clogged up with dust or there is a sealed system failure. A sealed system failure would require an EPA-certified technician to diagnose and repair.

Harold, it would be recommended that the return duct and the air damper 242303001 are inspected for any blockages and that the damper is opening. If the freezer is reaching the proper temperature as verified by a thermometer, the evaporator and the fans are working properly. This would indicate an airflow issue or a temperature sensing issue with the thermistor 242278801.

Timothy, after the unit has ran for a couple of hours, it would be recommended that the defrost heater 242044113 and the defrost thermostat 5303918214 are tested from the main control A01078804 once the power cord is unplugged. At the connection J1, the heater would be tested from the brown wire on pin 9 to the light blue wire on pin 1. The resistance should measure 30 Ohms. The defrost thermostat would then be tested from the light blue wire on pin 1 to the blue wire on pin 7 for continuity. If both tests check good, the failure would be in the main control. If any test fails, the part referenced for the test would need to be replaced.

Blake for Model Number FFHS2611PFEA

Freezer was cold but not freezing and getting the H1 error. I have since replaced the defrost thermostat and then the defrost heater and getting the same issue. After searching a little more in these questions, I saw a response that there should be frost on all of the coils. I only get build up on the line running to the coils and the top level of coils and fins. There is no ice or frost build up beyond that. Does this mean an issue with the coolant system and needs an HVAC tech? If so, am I better off just getting a new fridge?

1 Answer

Blake, From the description of your issue, it would seem that you have a sealed system issue and you will need an EPA certified technician to complete the system repairs.
