James April 28, 2016 for Model Number Samsung French door with ice maker in bottom freezer unit Ice maker works and dumps and everything. Only problem is the ice, when dumped, is busted; almost like crushed ice. Is there a heating element to release the cubes prior to dumping that may not be working? Why are the cubes being broken? This has been the situation since the unit was bought new in 2009.

Greg W April 03, 2016 for Model Number Rfg298hdrs Samsung frig w/ upper and lower ice maker 2 weeks ago I came home to a flood in the floor from the upper ice maker . Both trays in the door just under ice maker and ice bucket were full of water . I wondered if my wife had left the bottom freezer drawer open was first thought but not sure as I opened everything up checking everything not thinking. Since this being a plumber I have installed flood control with sensor on line to frig. Upper ice maker not producing ice before or after installing flood control or since the flood .I have reset the ice maker several times and the arm comes down and I can hear it run but not fill up . Bottom ice maker works good . What do I need to check next on upper ice maker . Thanks for any suggestions ,Greg
1 Answer Greg, If the upper icemaker is not filling with water then the first thing to check is whether there is voltage getting to the water valve. Earl March 31, 2016 for Model Number RFG298HDRS When I reset the freezer ice maker everything appears to function except water coming into the tray. I noticed the arm cycles up and down but stays up at the end of the cycle and cannot be pulled down manually.
1 Answer Earl, The arm is supposed to stay in the up position when at the end of the cycle and will not be able to be pulled down. For the issue with no water coming to the icemaker you will want to test to see if the water valve is getting 120 vac to it when the icemaker calls for water. Colleen March 15, 2016 My samsung ice maker gets frosty on the inside (when I take the ice tray out I can see it). This causes the ice to get jammed up and then it shuts off. Why is this getting loaded with frost? I have to chisel it off about once a month.

Barbara January 30, 2016 Samsung French door refrigerator ice maker is dumping ice into the freezer rather than into the ice try. Over the Christmas holiday my grandmother was punching the buttons all over the controls and I believe she might have shut off the ice for a while.
