Chuck for Model Number Samsung RS267 TDRS XAA Hi, our Samsung side by side refrigerator is only 14 months old and the freezer side of the fridge has quit working. The fridge side seems to be working fine and maintaining a temperature of about 38 degrees. The temperature of the freezer seems to be at about the same temperature as the fridge. I'm assuming the fridge is maintaining this temperature. Any thoughts on what could be going on? I'm really disappointed that a 14 month old fridge has broken down already.
Answer Chuck, You will want to pull the rear cover in the freezer compartment and check for heavy ice or frost build up. If there is heavy ice or frost build up then you will need to check the defrost heater to make sure that it is not bad and check the thermistor. If faulty then it would need to be replaced.
