Nicholas December 07, 2018 for Model Number WP3399640 "I have a Whirlpool dryer model #WED5560SQ0. I just tested all my wires, plug, and all other electrical components. I've also cleaned out my dryer and air duct and there's good air flowing in and out of my dryer because my air duct flap outside is open when it's on to indicate good airflow. I just just all my dials and I see that my selector switch does not have continuity on the "Heavy High Load" setting but all the other settings have continuity. My clothes still run on heavy load but my clothes are still damp and have to run dryer again until clothes are done. Why is the dryer still running on "Heavy Load" with no continuity and is the selector switch important when it comes to drying clothes than just good clean airflow and not tripping any components?"
1 Answer Nicholas, If the selector switch is not showing continuity then the issue will be that the switch is faulty and would need replaced. Read More...

Nicholas December 06, 2018 for Model Number WP3399640 I have a whirlpool dryer and my "heavy load" selector setting has no continuity, but all the other settings have continuity. My dryer still runs on the heavy setting but it's still taking more time to dry clothes. My dryer is cleaned out, there's good air flowing, there are no clogs in the air duct because the flap is open, and all the rest of my wires, dials, and other electrical components have continuity. Is the temperature selector switch important to the clothes heating and why is the dryer still running on heavy but no continuity?

Merry October 02, 2018 for Model Number whirlpool gold dryer GEQ8858EQ0 Our dryer stopped working and we ordered a thermal fuse from you and replaced it. The vent duct is short and we cleaned it out too. Fuse repair was simple and dryer worked fine, then after 2 loads it quit and won't start. I'm guessing that something is overheating, and would appreciate any tips to diagnose and remedy.
1 Answer Merry, It sounds as though you are correct and is overheating for some reason. A couple of issues could be the cycling thermostat WP3387134 not turning off the heater, a short or grounded heater that is causing it to stay energized all the time. Test one terminal to ground for continuity. If you have continuity replace the heater. A problem with the blower wheel, make sure good air flow coming out of your dryer. Read More...

Kid November 16, 2015 for Model Number 110.9758521075852 I have a Kenmore dryer. The buzzer will not stop buzzing at the end of the cycle. When I open the door it stops, but then when I close the door it starts buzzing again. What do you think the problem is. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Kid, You will want to check the start switch on the unit to make sure that it is good by testing continuity. Will be no continuity when the button is not pushed and have continuity when it is. If the switch checks ok then the motor would be faulty and need to be replaced. Read More...
Patricia September 13, 2015 for Model Number WED5200VQ1 My dryer heats but the timer will not go off I think it stays on the same heat setting. What part do I need?
1 Answer Hello Patricia. If there is power coming to the timer motor and the timer does not advance, you will need to order and replace the timer WPW10185982 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Bill Kavanagh November 13, 2014 for Model Number 110.70842990 I have a Kenmore gas dryer that won't get hot on any setting. I changed the igniter but it didn't help. switch? the switch doesn't sound like it is good . it seems like the click isn't right. bill
1 Answer Bill, You will want to check for power getting to the igniter. There should be 120 vac getting to it. If not then test the thermostats for continuity and if they are good then either the timer contact is not making to send power to the igniter. Read More...
Hunter October 12, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore 11066822694 My dryer functions with no heat. I have used a multimeter to check the element (10.8 ohms). I assume that all of these are fine, so could my problem possibly be the temperature switch (3399640)? I have also checked the voltage from the breaker box and the dryer itself with normal results.
1 Answer Hello Hunter, You will need to verify the centrifugal switch in the motor is making when actuated. If not, replace the motor 279827. If so, replace the timer WP3976576. Read More...
