Merry for Model Number whirlpool gold dryer GEQ8858EQ0 Our dryer stopped working and we ordered a thermal fuse from you and replaced it. The vent duct is short and we cleaned it out too. Fuse repair was simple and dryer worked fine, then after 2 loads it quit and won't start. I'm guessing that something is overheating, and would appreciate any tips to diagnose and remedy.
Answer Merry, It sounds as though you are correct and is overheating for some reason. A couple of issues could be the cycling thermostat WP3387134 not turning off the heater, a short or grounded heater that is causing it to stay energized all the time. Test one terminal to ground for continuity. If you have continuity replace the heater. A problem with the blower wheel, make sure good air flow coming out of your dryer. Read More...
