Ray December 28, 2012 for Model Number wfw8300sw00 Stopped the washer during a cycle to remove something, now I get an F-24,the unit will run through the cleaning cycle and drain/spin cycle only. Any ideas, thanks ray
1 Answer Hello Ray, The F24 error code indicates a water temperature sensor error. Things to check. Unplug unit and check the water temperature sensor and connections to it. Check the resistance of the heating element if present on this model. Ohm reading on temp sensor should be 32 degrees 35.9 Kohms. 86 degrees 9.7 k, 104 degrees 6.6k, 122 degrees 4.6. If the ohm reading is not within these specs then sensor WPW10467289 would need to be replaced. Read More...
Peaks October 07, 2012 for Model Number Kenmore 110.46462501 Tonight, had a load stop mid-run with flashing lights and water left in the tub. After draining and trying a few more cycles, it looks like the tub is not agitating/spinning. I took the back panel off and verified the belt is fine. I ran the diagnostic sequence and had a primary failure code of F11 (Motor Control Unit Error) and also a couple of F1 codes (EEPROM or Pump Driver Error). During the subsequent test program everything worked except the where the drum is supposed to be moving. Removed the wiring harness from the motor and verified 6 ohms between pins 1-2, 2-3, 1-3. Also verified 120 ohms between pins 4-5. I'm thinking this is probably most likely a bad MCU. However, when I ran a spin cycle, I did see 120V to ground from the MCU-motor connector to ground from pins 1, 2, 3. Anything else I should check or verify before I order the MCU? Thanks!
1 Answer Hi. Ohm all individual motor windings one at a time to the motor frame to see if one or more are shorted. Motor part# WPW10140579. According to the error code, you will check connections first, then replace the MCU WPW10197864 next, and if problem continues, replace the CCU WPW10525351 last. This is recommended from the manufacture. If you replace the MCU and it does not fix the problem, you can return it and replace the CCU. Thank You. Read More...
Les May 05, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool duet sport wfw8300 I'm getting F-01 code after my wife shutdown spin cycle with one minite left on the timer. I've checked connections, tapped on everything on the CCU, and unplugged the machine for more than the 2 minite time in the manual. I also did the diagnostics on it and all it gives me is F-01. Is my CCU shot ??
1 Answer Les, It's most likely an issue within the CCU WPW10525351 chip. It could be EMI from the drain pump motor but that is a rare occasion. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Al January 04, 2012 for Model Number wfw8300sw02 My whirlpool duet sport washer will not agitate and I get a F-11 code. Checked all connections to the ccu and the mcu all Ok. Door locks are good ccu board clicks when turned on. A tech came to check it out and told me to change both boards, OUCH!! What can I do or is the tech correct? Water fills ok, door locks ok, but , no agitation.
1 Answer Hello Al. According to the error code, you will check connections first, then replace the MCU WPW10197864 next, and if problem continues, replace the CCU WPW10525351 last. This is recommended from the manufacture. If you replace the MCU and it does not fix the problem, you can return it and replace the CCU. Hope this helps. Read More...
Robin November 15, 2011 for Model Number WFW8300SW0 I replaced the CCU but my washer will not spin on Low/Medium Speed (only spins on High) and I'm not receiving any Error/Fault Codes. I have a multimeter and need to know which terminal pin's to test on the MCU (AP4362572) for continuty/ohm's (include number of ohm's) and which wire's (located on the wire harness that connects from the CCU to the MCU) to test for AC/DC Voltage at the MCU (include AC or DC and correct reading)?
1 Answer Hello Robin. Test across the motor terminals 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 1 to 3, you should read around 6 ohms. If not, then the motor WPW10140579 is bad. If it is good, you will test for power coming to the motor on pins 1 to 3 and 1 to2. If the power is not there, replace the MCU WPW10197864. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Nolan October 17, 2011 for Model Number wfw8300sw0 Washer goes through cycles fine except for the tub. Belt is good, all connections are good, no power to motor. Would that be the MCU or the CCU that needs replacing?
1 Answer Hello Nolan. See if there is power coming to the MCU. If so, and no power comes out, you will need to replace the MCU WPW10197864. If there is no power to the MCU, and the wiring harness is good, then you will need to replace the CCU WPW10525351. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jamie August 28, 2011 for Model Number 110.46462501 Kenmore front load washer I have a Kenmore front load washer that wont drain. I cleared the trap in front of the drain pump and still nothing. I pulled the pump motor it looked bad and smelled like it was burnt so I replaced it and still same thing. The machine turns on fills and aggitates but when it is supposed to drain it clicks and then all the lights flash around the dial and the add garmet light lights up.
1 Answer Hi Jamie. Is the tub sump area at 6:00 full of stuff? Pull the inside drum baffle and remove the sump flat cover/filter and clear all obstructions in the sump hose going to the pump intake. The code is because the pump is not using enough current and you dont run it untill all is clear. This way the new pump wont burn up. Thank you. Read More...
Stephanie April 21, 2011 for Model Number wfw83000sw01 I replaced the CCU board, now error F28. Checked all connections, called repair man. Said not worth fixing. Said need motor control unit or wiring harness. Will not fill with water or spin. Turns on all board controls work and goes through cycles but does not fill or spin correctly.
1 Answer Hello Stephanie. Here are the instructions from the manufacture for an F28 code. This could be an issue of a loose connection, or a broke wire. Hope this helps. Possible Causes/Procedure 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU). – Check connections of the CCU board within the housing. – Make sure all grounding switches are engaged. 3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components. 4. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle. 6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor. 7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations. 8. Check that the serial harness at the MCU is not mounted upside down. The wires should be to the left when facing the MCU connectors. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Gak! Check and see if you are getting power to the pump from the board. If you are not receiving power, you will need to check all connections on the board and make sure they are all good and tight. If all the connections on the board are good and tight, then you may have a bad CCU board. Below is some test procedures you will need to perform to determine which part you will need, hope this helps! - Check for loose power outlet. A loose power plug in the wall can create line noise and issues. - Check if washer is on a dedicated circuit. Other devices on same circuit can create line noise and cause this issue. - Unplug washer or disconnect power. - Make sure that wire harness connections from the CCU are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal pins are visible. - Make sure all green wires (ground harness system) are not broken or detached. - Make sure the two ground switches are pressed correctly by the toe and rear panels. - Make sure all connectors are fully seated. - Plug in washer or reconnect power. - Check for power going to Central Control Unit (CCU) by listening for a click in the CCU when unit is plugged in washer or when reconnecting power.
