Peaks for Model Number Kenmore 110.46462501 Tonight, had a load stop mid-run with flashing lights and water left in the tub. After draining and trying a few more cycles, it looks like the tub is not agitating/spinning. I took the back panel off and verified the belt is fine. I ran the diagnostic sequence and had a primary failure code of F11 (Motor Control Unit Error) and also a couple of F1 codes (EEPROM or Pump Driver Error). During the subsequent test program everything worked except the where the drum is supposed to be moving. Removed the wiring harness from the motor and verified 6 ohms between pins 1-2, 2-3, 1-3. Also verified 120 ohms between pins 4-5. I'm thinking this is probably most likely a bad MCU. However, when I ran a spin cycle, I did see 120V to ground from the MCU-motor connector to ground from pins 1, 2, 3. Anything else I should check or verify before I order the MCU? Thanks!
Answer Hi. Ohm all individual motor windings one at a time to the motor frame to see if one or more are shorted. Motor part# WPW10140579. According to the error code, you will check connections first, then replace the MCU WPW10197864 next, and if problem continues, replace the CCU WPW10525351 last. This is recommended from the manufacture. If you replace the MCU and it does not fix the problem, you can return it and replace the CCU. Thank You. Read More...
