For Whirlpool Replacement Icemaker (Part Number: OEM12405033)

Applphx for Model Number KSSC48FKS02

I ordered the ice maker kit for the refrigerator kssc48fks02 and none of the wiring hireness for the kit match. My refrigerator had two wiring hireness, one with 3 pin and pen with 2 pin. In the old wiring hireness, one cable comes from where the dial is and it then merges with another cable coming from the normal place to create 2 pin harness and remaining 3 cable from the standard place creates 2nd harness with 3 pin. I can send the photo if required but kit 4317943 is not matching

Hello John. Make sure the shut off arm is firmly pressed inside the hole on the module head. If not, it will not shut it off on the unit.

Hello Nuno, Basically, the icemaker will cycle only as fast as the cycling thermostat makes connection. You can set the freezer temperature colder as long as it doesn't drop below zero. If it gets below 0°F, it will extend the harvest time. The only other way is to disassemble the icemaker and apply more thermal mastic, 5303307896 to the cycling thermostat to sense the temperature faster.

Steve for Model Number Whirlpool ED5FHExNL00

I have an Whirlpool UltraEase II (ED5FHEXNL00) with an ice maker that is not functioning and I see no evidence of ice/water in the tube. The main checks are for voltage across the 'N' & 'L' test points (yes - I have 118v) and then to short points 'T' & 'H' to run the motor and also activate the water valve. When I short T&H the motor does not run - nothing happens, so must I assume the ice maker is definitely bad? And then what about the valve? Does this confirm that it is also not getting a signal to activate the water valve? And any practical way to check the valve then to see if it is okay?

1 Answer

Steve, You did have the freezer door switch plunger taped down, it shouldn't make a difference, but you may want to check again. When toy jump the T to H openings, you need to be sure you have made good contact with the internal points in the control head mechanism, and on occasion you may have to hold the jumper in position for a few seconds. With everything is still intact, if your careful, you can install you jumper in the L and V openings of the mechanism, this should supply 120 VAC to the fill valve, and it should activate and release the water into the ice maker, if the fill valve and wiring are intact.

Hello GW. Either the water valve is bad or the fill tube is frozen. You will need to check both parts.

Hello Susan. If it is the cup, it snaps onto the end of the icemaker. You need to remove the module and side the arm back to install the cup onto the end of the mold assembly.
