Richard H. November 17, 2011 for Model Number MDB6701AWW My dishwasher quit working the other day whereas I have nothing at the control panel. Nothing lights up as I push them. At first i thought of the door switch and tested them. One is noramlly open and the other seems to be closed whether or not the door is latched. Could this be my problem?
1 Answer Hello Richard. Yes, it could be. You will need to test and see if there is power to the switches. If so, test and see if there is power at the control board. If not, replace the switch WP99002751. If there is power to the control board, replace the control board WPW10218837. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jimmy May 20, 2011 for Model Number mdbh965aww The answer to a question by Jim about some lights coming on but cycle not starting and lights go off after several seconds is my problem but I was wondering if there is a way I can verify that I do not need a board control. Your answer to him was he may need control panel. Also in my vent there is a small plastic part that has a pencil lead sized rod that may be broken off up inside the female side. Do you know where I can find detail schematic for that kind of part with that much detail? I am not a pro obviously but I am familiar with ohm meters I used to install alarm/ intercoms/ low voltage stuff. I hope I can figure this out for myself with your help. Thanks very much.
1 Answer Hello Jimmy! If you are pressing the options on the control panel and it is not sending a signal to the control board 12002709, the control panel 6-919836 itself will need to be replaced. You can test the parts with a multimeter MA-DM1. Here is a link from our free repair forum you can refer to for help with using a multi meter. Hope this helps, thaks! http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Lukeduke April 20, 2011 for Model Number ADB2500AWB I just replaced a broken door latch with part W10130698 but could not figure out how to get the wires disconnected from the door switch ( AP4114315 ). I ended up using the existing door switch on the new latch, but now my dishwasher will not begin a wash cycle. It powers up and fills with water, but then stops. Does anyone have any advice?
1 Answer Hello Lukeduke. These can be tight, but they pull off of the micro-switches. Hope this helps. Read More...
Terry April 17, 2011 for Model Number mdb7600aws We were remodeling our kitchen, and when we were reinstalling the dishwasher, it turned on once and after that the panel does not even light up. We chacked all power and it is fine.
1 Answer Hello Terry. First check and make sure the door latch WPW10130695 is good and is latching properly. If it is bad, there will be no power at the board. You will need to test and see if your getting power to the control board. If there is power there, you will need to remove the ribbon cable for the control panel and make sure it is clean and dry. If it is good, you may have a bad control board. We will need your serial number to find the correct control board for your model. Hope this helps. Read More...
Sally Y. April 10, 2011 for Model Number mdbh975awb We have removed the door latch and in doing so one of the electrical contacts came apart. Is ap4114315 the part we need to solve this?
1 Answer Hello Sally! Yes, the door switch WP99002751 is the electrical lead on the door latch. Thanks. Read More...
Jim March 29, 2011 for Model Number MDBH955AWS Many of the push buttons on the touch panel are dead and won't start the cycles. The ones that come on go off after 20-30 seconds and no cycle will start. I ordered part # ap4009230 control board and I still have the same problem. The door switches have a lot of blue discoloration, but they click. My multimeter is broke so I can't test them. Do you have any recommendations as to what could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Jim! it seems that you may have a defective control panel 6-920244. The control panel has a ribbon cable that connects and sends signals, when pressed, to the control board. The ribbon cable is only available with the control panel. Hope this helps! Read More...
