Bob July 16, 2012 for Model Number med5840two dryer will not start when i turn the timer on there is alittle wheel on back of timer going round making clicking noise but nothing happens what could be my problem
1 Answer Bob, The timer sounds like it's working, so. Make sure you check and reset both brekers at the box. It could be you lost a power leg to the dryer, and the motor won't run. Also check for a faulty door switch WP3406107, Make sure you can hear the switch "click" when you press and release the lever. You'll need to remove the front panel and check the thermal fuse WP3392519 located on the blower housing. If it has an "open" circuit, it opens power to the motor and the dryer won't start. Tim November 14, 2011 for Model Number MED5820TW0 My dryer never stops. It drys fine but it does not cycle. For example if we put the dial at Timed Dry of 10 minutes the dryer would go on forever and the dial would never move from initial setting we set it to. Also, once we open the dryer door and close it we hear a subtle clicking noise. It isnt until we physically turn the dial to an off position before the clicking will stop.
1 Answer Hello Tim. If there is power to the timer motor and the timer does not turn, you will need to replace the timer WP3406725. Hope this helps. Read More...
Lady W.W.W. October 22, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool Gold GEQ9800PW1 Hi. We can turn the timer dial to select a setting, but if you used timed settings, the dryer doesn't turn on via the start button. It will turn on when you turn the timer dial slightly backward. Of course when you let the dial go, the dryer turns off. When you use sensing, it will run but may advance too quickly, leaving the clothes damp when it shuts off.
John September 14, 2011 for Model Number LGQ8100KQ0 My whirlpool dryer timer won't advance using the AccuDry Sensor Drying mode. On the other hand, the Timed Drying mode works just fine. There is heat when the dryer is on. What do I need to replace in order to fix it? Thank you....
1 Answer John, You may not need anything, first thing to do is disconnect the exhaust vent from the back of the dryer, clean as much of the debris out of the vent system in the wall, Run the dryer on an "accu dry " setting with the vent off and observe the timer to see if it advances. If it does you will need to clean the exhaust vent sytem. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Chris July 28, 2011 for Model Number LEQ8611LW1 Dryer comes on and stays on for about two minutes. Then buzzer sounds and dryer turns off. You can turn the timer to one certain spot and it will stay on for about ten minutes at the time before shutting off. This seems like it has to be the timer to me.
1 Answer Hi Chris. Has your timer knob been off and possibly been put on upside down? Is the dryer abnormally hot above the center of the sides/top and overheating the motor? It will momentarily shut off the motor and then restart when the motor overload resets itself. The vent system needs to be cleaned along with the outside vent hood/cap operating properly. If all of this is OK, then replace the timer part # is WP3406725. Thank you. Read More...
Abby June 30, 2011 for Model Number lgq8858jq1 Whirlpool dryer ran for 2 cycles and no heat. Heat did come on only at the beginning for 1 min and then there was no heat. The timer did complete its cycle. I did check lint and made sure there were no clogs.
1 Answer Hello Abby! If there is heat at the beginning of the cycle and the ignitor does not relite it sounds like the secondary coil has gone out. You will need to replace the coil kit part number 279834. Thanks! Read More...
Abby June 28, 2011 for Model Number whirlpool ultimat2 lgq8858jq1 Unit does come on, but timer seems to be stuck in same position, and also no heat.
1 Answer Hello Abby. You will need to fix the heating issue to see if the timer is working. You will need to test the thermal fuses W11050897 and the flame sensor WP338906 and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter 279311 and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. Steve June 20, 2011 for Model Number geq9800pwi Machine will not start & timer makes a clicking noise when turn on. Door lights come on & have replaced thermal fuse.
1 Answer Hello Steve. You will need to test and see if the door switch WP3406107 is good or bad. It should read closed for continuity when the door is closed. If it is bad, it can cause the problems your having. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
