Claude, Sounds like your washer is running fine. Here are the amperages you need to look for : agitation at regular speed with full tub of water 6.0 to 7.0 amps. Spin, regular with water in tub 6.5 to 7.5 amps. Spin regular speed water out of tub, full spin speed 6.0 to 7.0 amps. This is the ratings under ideal situation 9 120 VAC) under a load, If your voltage is lower than that, your amperage will increase. Thanks

Tapped Out, If you need the upper shaft bearing, you would need to order the transmission casing, which will Substitue to a transmission kit 6-2097750 at which point you'd need a tub bearing kit 6-2040130 and spanner wrench TB123B . We're sending you some additional information, so you can determine the actual issue and basic how to information.

Jay for Model Number Maytag LAT9416aae

Hello. My washer was leaking at the tub bearing (could see water coming out under the outer tub when filling with the front panel off). I've replaced the tub bearing (part AP4372971) and tub seal (part AP253016). I've meticulously checked my work 4 times. Now the washer doesn't leak when fills UNTIL the water level gets about 6" high. It appears that the lower seal/bearing are water tight, but when the water gets above the collar where it hits the transmission shaft, it leaks. Do I need to inspect (potentially replace) the rubber seal on the transmission shaft (part AP4026596)? How can I find that seal? Is there something else I should check? Thanks.

Hello Jay. Check and make sure you hooked the pressure hose back up on the side of the outer tub assembly. If not, it will cause the unit to leak like you are describing. If the leak is coming from the transmission, you will need to replace the transmission 6-2097750 in the unit.

Hello Ken. Yes, if the splines of the agitator are good, and the shaft is good, then it sounds like the transmission 6-2097750 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Hope this helps.

Norma H. for Model Number LSE1000 maytag

I purchased the damper and pads from you for my maytag stackable washer and dryer that was purchased in 1986 lse1000. My grandson is trying to replace the parts. He said because the machine is spring loaded he is not sure about how to get to the part. Do you have any imformation on this that would help him replace the part? The damper pads he can easily replace but not sure about the damper. The washer works great but it shakes real bad in the spin cycle.

Hello Norma, I attempted to send you an e-mail containing the service manual for your unit but it was sent back and was labeled "permanently undeliverable". If you have another e-mail address, I can resend it. It contains step by step instructions on how to troubleshoot and repair the washer and dryer and I believe it will be invaluable to you.

Ron, Most likely, yes. You you conduct the manual test, first. Slide the washer out, raise and block up the front of the washer, remove the drive belts. Grasp the drive pulley on the transmission and turn it in a counterclockwise direction, The Tub should start to spin in 1/2 to 3/4 of a revolution of the pulley. Turn the pulley in a clockwise direction, and the pulley should be relatively easy to turn and your assistant, should see the agitator oscilate. If the the pulley is hard to turn or cannot be turned, That would indicate a gear case issue or top agitator shaft bearing issue. Good Luck and Thanks

Bill, Does the motor run in the agitate mode ? does the motor move back and forth on the motor carriage assembly with the belts off ? Based on your post, everything is mechanically, fine in the transmission. I've never seen a Maytag agitator strip out on the agitator shaft, but you may want to check there. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Lyle. Remove the brake from the machine and see if the tub is locked up. If so, you have a bad tub bearing. If not, you may have a bad brake assembly WP6-2011900. Hope this helps.
