Range / Cooktop / Oven Spark Module
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11601369
The Spark Module is an OEM prat for Whirlpool brand gas ranges. Within the gas control, it functions to generate high-voltage sparks igniting the standing pilot lights and burner flames.
Causes of failure include normal wear of internal electronics from extensive temperature cycling. Contamination or damage over time also disrupts proper sparking.
Symptoms of a faulty module include:
- Standing pilots failing to remain lit between use
- Burners not igniting when the control knob is turned
- Inconsistent burner output or shutdowns during cooktop usage
This Whirlpool replacement ensures temperature adjustments and cooking functions operate reliably. Compatible replacements are suitable for Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and some Kenmore appliances as well.

Part Number: WB13X24321
The Ignition Module is an OEM part for GE ranges. This component plays a critical role in controlling oven ignition by generating high-voltage sparks to light the burners. It consistently monitors flame presence and re-ignites burners as needed throughout baking and cooking.
Symptoms of a bad ignition module include:
- Delayed burner ignition or failure to ignite at all
- Unstable or intermittent burner flames
- Repeated false error codes related to ignition
Causes can be short-circuiting or water damage of electronic components over extended use. This can lead to inconsistent spark outputs and faulty flame sensing.
Reliable ignition is essential for safe and trouble-free cooking. This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Thermador range oven spark igniter didn't work Michael B. • San Diego , CA • May 13, 2016
First I checked both spark igniters (range has two ovens) by testing them on the oven that did work. Both were good. I then checked the spark igniter wiring & it was good. At this point I contacted Appliance Parts Pros to ask which spark module I should order, the problem was that there wasn't a model number on the appliance. After speaking to the rep I ordered the ignition devise pictured above. Installed it and it worked!

This spark module generates the high-voltage pulses that ignite the surface burners on your gas range or cooktop. Replacing a weak or failed module restores reliable clicking and ignition on the burners served by this 2-output (2+0) circuit. What it does:
- Generates high-voltage pulses to the surface-burner igniters when a control knob is turned to ignite
- Controls spark for two burners (2+0 configuration)
- Common failure symptoms: no clicking/spark on the affected burners, intermittent/weak spark, or needing a match to light
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect electrical power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
- Access the module (typically beneath the cooktop or behind the control panel) and label/photograph wiring for reference
- Transfer wires one at a time; ensure high-voltage leads are fully seated and the module is properly grounded
- Mount securely, reassemble, restore utilities, and test ignition on both burners
Identification tip:
- "2+0" denotes a two-outlet surface-burner spark module; replace with the same configuration as the original
Diagnostic tip:
- A failed module typically affects all burners it serves; if only one burner won't spark, inspect that burner's igniter and switch first

Burners would not ignite and finish of drip bowls was deteriorated. James P. • Burke , VA • October 29, 2017
Ordered the correct size drip bowls (All drip bowls have the same outside diameter but different (small, medium or large) inside hole diameters.) Removed 5 knobs by pulling straight up. Removed grate, burner cover, and burner from each of the five burners. Unscrewed two hold down screws from center of each drip bowl. Lifted each drip bowl, pulled wire off the igniter, pushed U-shaped clip off igniter and pulled igniter up thru top of drip bowl, pushed igniter down thru top of new bowl, pushed...

Clicking from ignitor mode would not stop after burner lit Jeffrey Maclachlan V. • Nederland , CO • September 03, 2017
Turned out the little switches on the knob shaft had corroded and were staying on. There was constant continuity showing with an ohm meter. Replacing the switches was very easy (always disconnect power to the unit before servicing). Bought a new ignitor module as a backup as they do go out of production after 10 years or so- another cheap and easy fix if needed in the future.
