This electronic control board is the brain of the appliance, directing power and timing to components so cycles run as designed. Replacing a failed board restores proper operation and consistent, reliable performance. What it does:
- Controls cycle timing and sends power to motors, valves, heaters, and other loads
- Processes inputs from sensors and switches to start and advance cycles
- Resolve a unit that won't start or appears dead/unresponsive
- Correct erratic operation, stuck cycles, or recurring error codes
What's included:
- 1 electronic control board
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; turn off water or gas if applicable
- Use ESD precautions and handle the board by its edges only
- Document wire locations or take photos; move connectors one at a time and reuse mounting hardware
- Some models require calibration or programming after installation—follow the tech sheet/service manual

Refrigerator was not cold enough (hovering around 50 degrees) Marc B. • Rogers , AR • January 03, 2017
The air damper was not operating so the cold air from the freezer could not get into the refrigerator. The part from AppliancePartsPros.com did work but not without a slight modification. I read one post related to the same part where the customer thought he received the wrong part because he couldn't get the clips to engage the freezer wall. The response from this site was that he received the correct part but he just had to push really hard.
Armed with this knowledge I was prepared to have...

This diffuser—often called the refrigerator air damper—controls how much cold air flows from the freezer into the fresh food compartment. Replacing a worn diffuser helps restore even cooling and more stable temperatures throughout the refrigerator. What it does:
- Opens and closes to regulate airflow from the freezer to the refrigerator
- Helps maintain set temperatures and reduce warm spots or over-cooling
- Common symptoms: fresh food too warm while freezer is OK, food freezing on shelves, weak airflow from upper vents, or clicking/buzzing from the diffuser area
- Helps address frost or condensation near the diffuser outlet
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing
- Access from the refrigerator section; remove shelves/air duct covers as needed
- Note wiring and orientation; remove mounting screws/clips and transfer any seals/insulation if present
- After installation, restore power and allow up to 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize

The temperature in the freezer was 6 and the temperature in the refrigerator would go to 48 the evap coil wasn't defrosting Dennis W. • Elkhart , WI • June 29, 2019
After checking the defrost heater to confirm it was ok. I replaced the main electronic board. That wasn't it. After 1 1/2 weeks, it frosted up again. I called and talked to a tech person at APP and then ordered the air tower, defroster thermostat, and temp sensor. I installed them all and the frig works great. I know replacing all those parts at once didn't confirm which one failed, but I just wanted it fixed. The cost was less than having a service call. The parts arrived the day after...

I was getting the dreaded "woodpecker" tapping in my ge profile refrigerator every 10 minutes or so 8 to12 loud rapping sounds James S. • Bakersfield , CA • April 06, 2018
All my reading online pointed to the damper doors, and by standing in the open door of my fridge, I patiently waited until it happened again, and determined it was the ones behind the crisper. Problem was, there's both a single unit and a double set of doors listed on your part list. I decided to order both sets (and they came in two days, thank you). I watched your great video and even though my unit didn't perfectly match the one you demonstrated, it was close enough that I made the repair...
