The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. I pulled out the refrigerator and unplugged it. Then removed the top access panel. Unplugged the fan motor then removed the fan orifice. Removed the fan motor from the orifice. Mounted the fan motor on the new orifice and reinstalled the assembly plugging the fan motor back in as well. Replaced the access panel and plugged in the refrigerator. Then pushed the refrigerator back into place.

Profess: I have known for years that this model does not have the heater circuits that allows it to run in a cold room/garage.
