Roper Refrigerator Parts

I replaced the Thermostat and Defrost Timer. It was a fairly easy repair other than removing the old Defrost Timer. The way the manufacturer, in this case, Amana, mounts that unit with "clips" is just poor design and engineering. It is virtually impossible to get the timer out without damaging the mounts. I suspected the start-relay and tested it due to the lint plugged condenser coils. The start-relay rattled when shook, a telling sign it is no good due to over heating. I tested the compressor terminals and compared them the results with the Tech Data Sheet found with the unit, to find my compressor was still good. Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. Removed the screws, lifted the old lid out of the hinges. Replaced the hinges, set new lid in the hinges and replaced screws. Read more

I replaced the Relay-Ptc and that solved the problem. I could see that there was a problem with the relay because it was arcing inside and you could see a glow coming from the inside. when I removed it from the compressor I shook it and I could hear it rattling and news for sure it was the problem Read more

Watched u tube video. Ordered replacement water inlet valve and new hoses. Dismantled washer and replaced defective valve and installed new hoses. The repair went very easily and the washer worked perfectly as a result. Read more
