I opened the washer and replaced the pump. To open the washer: 1. Remove the 2 screws that are different from the others in the top back corners of the machine. That will let you remove the top. 2. Remove the soap tray and its holder. The tray comes out if you depress the tab in the back center. Its holder comes out if you remove the two screws in the front. Since my Samsung Dishwasher would not drain and had a flashing quick light, I removed the racks and both spray wands. Which allowed me to remove the lower screen assembly. This revealed a worn and broken check valve and broken grinder blade. I cleaned the inside of the dishwasher and removed the unit from under the counter. I removed and cleaned the brake assembly ( large transparent plastic section on left side of the dishwasher). I cleaned this for preventive maintenance by taking the float... Read more

Motor shaft was stripped, replaced with new shaft from Motor Seal Kit. Impeller was also cracked, so replaced it as well. I did run in to a small problem, the chopper blade was pressing against the metal grate on the piece that goes back over the motor seal. I spent about an hour messing with it, but thought maybe once it's all together it'll be fine. When you screw the impeller on, it pushes down the seals, which pushes down the chopper blade. When we first removed the drain filter from the washer, we noticed the O-ring had a slight defect which made removal hard and reinstallation almost a nightmare. Finally we ordered another filter when we ordered a water valve/thermistor for the mother-in-law's washer. Filter installed a lot easier than the original one. Should have ordered one way sooner! After ordering two pump kits and thinking I had still had the wrong pump I read how other customers fixed the problem. Forget about the pump going back in the same location. It mounts to the bottom of the frame not to the bottom of the tub as it came from the manufacturer. In my case there were mounting holes already there to accept the new pump bracket. The new hoses will reach the bottom of the tub and outlet. Fast and easy repair once I sorted through the changes. I hope other Samsung... Read more

I ordered the part (drain pump assy) from AppliancePartsPros.com and it was delivered to my house in 2 days. I called a friend to install it for me but....he never showed up. So I decided to do it myself. I watch the video that another Appliance Part customer suggested and it was extremely easy even for a seasoned woman as myself. It only took me about 20 minutes. The machine was displaying an "nd" code, wasn't draining, and would make a grinding noise when the pump ran. After about 30 seconds of the grinding noise, the pump would stop, and the washer would pause the load. Diagnosis was fairly easy: I drained the water out manually at the filter housing. (If you have a drain in the floor of the laundry room, and the washer is up-slope from the drain, just drain it onto the floor and into the drain.)
