We knew at least one door hinge cable assembly or hinge spring was broken (the door started falling down rapidly and became heavy to close) so we ordered two of each since we had read to go ahead and replace the damaged items on both sides. While we were waiting on the order, the other side must have broken-the door became incredibly heavy and instead of falling open, started crashing down unless it was carefully lowered. Found the end of the right-side Door Spring that connects to the Door Cable broke off and the plastic end of the Door Cable that connects to the Door Spring was also broken off. Since my model was not shown, I was looking to see how the door spring and the Hinge Arm Link was supposed to be set up. At first it seems that the pulley can't be removed to make this repair. However,after removing the screw that holds the pulley in place, if you take a small screwdriver and tap the center of the pulley bracket with a hammer it comes out from behind and will go back in with hand pressure after repair. Once I located the parts involved in the factory exploded drawing I ordered a cable and spring. Then, when I had the dishwasher pulled out I saw that both cables had simply slipped off of their pulleys and that the door needed to be re-set properly into its drop-down metal studs. Pretty easy fix with replacement part from AppliancePartsPros -- but there's a catch: The eight control buttons, not the on/off button, all look alike, but they need to be installed in a certain order for them to work once you install the panel. No instructions for this and the repair video (by the tech Simon) does NOT make this clear. It took a lot of time and repeated installations to figure this out.
