Dryer timer faulty Whirlpool ultimate care ii Sabine S. • Bellingham , WA • December 05, 2023
My dryer would only start (and keep running) after a lot of fiddling with the timer to find a position that "worked." The machine wouldn't turn on when the timer was set in the dry-sensor region, and eventually, it stayed running only when we pressed the timer button. As soon as the pressure was off, the dryer stopped. Clearly that wasn't sustainable.
I'd been putting off the repair because our dryer vent situation is tricky; once disconnected it's a real bear to reconnect. Watching the...

On/Off switch was not working on our GE dryer. An appliance repair person told me he would charge $350 for the part and service. Purchased the part needed from AppliancePartsPros.com for around $130 (including S&H). The part was delivered within a few days and took literally minutes to install with socket set, pliers and a phillips head screwdriver.

Timer would not advance the time so dryer stayed on until manually shut off Mg C. • Simi Valley , CA • April 14, 2015
Just as the folks in the comments section said, I tested everything to make sure the timer had power which it did. I then tested with the OHM tester and saw that the switch was open when the timer was set to any drying cycle. So i changed the timer and voila! timer is functioning again. It was a very easy fix. Just pop the four screws out of the back of my timer panel on the dryer, detach all the wires, lift up on the little bracket that is holding the timer in place and twist it, and it...

Dryer timer would not turn and knob broke from the strain Bruce B. • Birmingham , AL • October 17, 2014
I ordered the timer and knob on Monday, they arrived around noon on Tuesday, and within an hour I had them installed and back in business. I was amazed how quickly the parts got here. The online video showing the procedure step by step was very helpful. Instead of disconnecting all the wires and having to keep up with which one went where, I moved each wire one by one and made sure I didn't get any of them in the wrong place. The only thing that slowed me down a bit was seeing which side of the...

Front button had broken off Scott L. • Miramar , FL • March 13, 2015
Replacing the control panel assembly is extremely easy with one exception. To take off the existing panel (and there is no way to order a button for this, you have to order and replace the entire assembly), you pull the dial knob off (it comes right off, no tools required). There's a single screw underneath, Phillips head. You can then slide the panel up, and then unplug the cable connecting the circuit board to the dryer itself.
Next steps: Unscrew the half dozen or so screws to remove the...
