Whirlpool washer direct drive motor coupling had gone bad and washer was not spinning or agitating Aaron P. • Fort Meade , MD • July 26, 2014
My whirlpool washer was no longer spinning, so my first stop was YouTube where I found the video from AppliancePartsPros showing how to replace the motor coupling. In addition to the replacement guide, Matt also shows you how to diagnose the problem by looking for rubber shavings under the washer. Seeing the rubber shavings under the washer, combined with the fact that the washer still drained meant that the motor was still working, so something else in the drive train was bad. I took the...

Wouldn't allow "super" fill setting James L. • San Jose , CA • April 02, 2021
GE Washer m/n GTW460ASJ6WW would allow other fill levels, but when set to "super" it would never stop filling. Checked water inlet valve (by initiating a fill and unplugging the unit) to see if the inlet valve was sticking open, that was not the issue. Decided to replace the board even though it is a significant fraction of the cost of a new washer. Local appliance stores didn't have the board but APP did, and of course, they are open 24/7 while my local part stores have decided the weekend is...

Whirlpool wfw94hexw2 was giving error code f06 e01 (and e02 at times) Dean T. • Tigard , OR • December 11, 2014
The washer would try to start. The door would lock, but then would get stuck in the phase of start-up where the drum needs to roll around (I assume so it knows what's in there). It would sit and think about it for a couple minutes and then give the error codes. I shut it off (sometimes had to unplug it and plug it back in), and it would take about 10 minutes for the door to unlock. After reading about fixes, I decided to dive in and try it (the washer is only 3 years old and I'm pretty...

Washer making strange noise got error code and water wouldn't drain from the tub. Joseph V. • Bargersville , IN • September 12, 2017
First off I want to say Appliance Part Pros rock! I have used them for purchasing repair items for other appliances in the past, so when my washer started making weird noises this was my go to source. I thought my problem was likely pump motor related as the water wasn't draining and I could hear the sound of the pump trying to work. After reviewing what others who had similar situations found to be the problem I took a gamble and decided to get the drain pump.
Some who had that problem...

Maytag clothes washer would not spin or drain Ben M. • Wallingford , CT • September 29, 2018
The washer was on, and I heard a faint humming sound in the laundry room. I went in and opened the washer and it was full of soapy water in the middle of its cycle and was not agitating. I also smelled a faint burning smell.
At this point I figured the problem was a bad motor, as the washer is more than 20 years old. I have fixed it twice before, because the first time, the repairman said I should keep this washer going as long as possible. It was made to last with a metal drum, unlike newer...

Clicking or tat tat tat noise with no agitation or spin Gerald T. • Aberdeen , NC • March 19, 2018
Unplugged power cord, shut off hot and cold water valves, and disconnected hot and cold water lines. I taped the lid closed and laid washer down on its front panel to access motor parts underneath. Removed center screw (allen wrench) and then removed large, round, plastic rotor (had to use some force with fingers behind it to get it off). I could see that the gear teeth inside the rotor had been partially stripped off ruining the rotor (and causing the noise).
I then removed the clutch...
