Thumping/vibrating/rattling pretty bad fixed 100%! Doug P. • Durham , NC • November 15, 2015
I am very glad to find the AppliancePartsPros.com website! Their instructional videos and easy parts reference made all the difference. I had originally planned to have someone come to fix my dryer, but no one was available for at least a week. I checked out their site, and after watching the videos I felt confident I could repair my appliance. I determined that a drum roller wheel had gone bad. Apparently it was going bad over the last five years since the dryer always seemed to rattle a...

Dryer squealing on startup Sandy R. • Manhattan , KS • September 08, 2015
I replaced the belt, belt tension pulley, both dryer drum roller axles and both drum support rollers. Although I bought 2 tumbler bearing kits, because those still look good I am saving them for when they go bad. The videos were fantastic! I also took pictures as I went of wiring so there would be no question where things went when reassembling. It should be noted some models have extra terminals near the sensor terminals... just be aware and look closely/take pics as you are taking things...

I had no error code, it is just that when you press start you would hear a click and no actions. Nicholas M. • Miami , FL • June 12, 2020
It was the day of my birthday June 6th when my wife came to me to tell me that the dryer was not working. Immediately I started to look for a new dryer from Best Buy and the rest. Then I said It would be better if I waited for 4th of July at which time I could find a better deal. This is when I decided to take it apart to see what was wrong. Initially, I thought of the belt that could be broken and I rotated the drum by hand and I heard a noise of the belt at times falling on the drum. I was...

Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304507499
The Idler Arm Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It is an essential component of the dryer's drum support system, responsible for maintaining the proper alignment and smooth rotation of the drum during operation. The idler arm assembly typically consists of an idler arm, pulley, and bearings, working together to support the weight of the drum and facilitate its rotational movement.
Symptoms of a bad idler arm assembly in a dryer include:
- Loud squeaking or grinding noises during operation
- Excessive vibration or shaking of the dryer
- Difficulty in starting or maintaining the drum's rotation
- Potential damage to other components due to misalignment
Causes of a bad idler arm assembly can include wear and tear over time, damage from foreign objects entering the drum, or issues with the bearings or pulley components. A faulty idler arm assembly can lead to improper drum alignment, increased friction, and potential damage to other parts of the dryer.
This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Pulley, spinner restores proper spinner rotation by guiding the spinner assembly and maintaining belt alignment. Replacing a worn or damaged pulley reduces noise and vibration during spin and helps improve water extraction. What it does:
- Guides and supports the washer's spinner assembly for smooth rotation and correct belt tracking.
- Common symptoms of a failing pulley: loud squealing or grinding during spin, wobbling spinner, belt slippage, or poor water extraction.
- Replaces a worn, cracked or noisy pulley to restore normal spin performance.
What's included: Includes: One pulley. Install notes:
- Disconnect power (unplug or switch off breaker) and shut off water before servicing.
- Access the spinner area per your appliance's service guide—remove panels or agitator as needed to reach the pulley.
- Inspect belt, bearings and mounting hardware; replace any worn or damaged components at the same time.
- Follow manufacturer torque and reassembly instructions.

Keep your dryer drum turning smoothly. This idler & pulley assembly maintains proper tension on the drive belt so the drum rotates quietly and efficiently when the original idler or pulley becomes worn, noisy, or seized. What it does:
- Applies spring-loaded tension to the drive belt for consistent drum rotation
- Provides a smooth rolling surface to minimize belt friction and wear
- Worn/failed parts may cause squealing or chirping, the drum not turning, the belt slipping off or breaking, or a hot rubber smell
What's included:
- One idler and pulley assembly
Install notes:
- Disconnect power; for gas dryers, also shut off the gas supply
- Access the belt path by removing the necessary panels per your service information
- Pull the idler to release belt tension, remove the old assembly, install the new one, and route the belt correctly around the motor and idler
- Manually rotate the drum to verify belt tracking before reassembly and test run

Maytag clothes washer would not spin or drain Ben M. • Wallingford , CT • September 29, 2018
The washer was on, and I heard a faint humming sound in the laundry room. I went in and opened the washer and it was full of soapy water in the middle of its cycle and was not agitating. I also smelled a faint burning smell.
At this point I figured the problem was a bad motor, as the washer is more than 20 years old. I have fixed it twice before, because the first time, the repairman said I should keep this washer going as long as possible. It was made to last with a metal drum, unlike newer...

The washer filled and agitated but it would not empty and spin Jeffrey W. • Daufuskie Island , SC • August 07, 2015
I took the front panel off and exposed the mechanism. Inside the shield is a capacitor, so I guessed that the capacitor was bad. I ordered a new shield which contains a new capacitor, installed it, and the washer now works normally again. At first the pump motor made a few clicks before it started running, so I believe the drain pump had an obstruction of some kind inside it, like a bolus of sand, that caused the motor to seize temporarily and burned out the capacitor. It's possible the...
