Fix loud grinding or buzzing noises during wash cycles with this dishwasher pump and motor assembly. Moderately difficult repair, takes 1-2 hours.
I hated to call a repair Guy, because by the time it takes them to do the service call and then order the part, then schedule another appointment. It would be at least two weeks. I figured I would just buy a new Dishwasher and have it delivered the next day. That was before I saw the price of a new dishwasher. I looked on line and found Appliance Parts Pros, saw the you tube video figured a trained monkey could do this change out on the motor assembly, so why can't I. I ordered the complete... Read more

Ordered the parts and followed the instruction videos that Sears provide, Initially tried to order parts from Sears directly but the web-page kept complaining about my shipping address. Their loss- no wonder they're going out of business. Also, should note that the original assembly was plastic but the replacement was metal. Sure sign of a crappy cost-cutting decision. Overall, very happy with Appliance Parts Pros! Read more

Fix standing water in your dishwasher bottom with a check valve replacement. Prevents backflow and improves cleaning. DIY repair in 30-60 minutes.
The odor in the dishwasher was due to scum buildup in the walls, the racks, and in the lower part of the drain below the lower rotating arm. One of the valves in the vertical tube was stuck in the open position; since the valves cannot be replaced, the entire tube needed replacement. The check valve probably needed no replacement, but once I opened the bottom part, I decided to replace it anyway.
