Light switch on bottom freezer compartment flakey (intermittant) Alfred M. • Pahoa , HI • September 07, 2014
I watched the video on replacing the switch on a side freezer where prying out to original switch did not look difficult. I then got on the floor and tried to pry out my switch. Had a terrible time (locking tab or switch body hardened with time?) and mangled the switch terribly and the upper panel of the freezer somewhat, but the switch did come out. AND THEN the top freezer panel with the switch and light assembly fell out into my hands! I was able to unplug one Molex connector and the...

Ice maker assembly failed Ronald B. • Fort Myers , FL • January 09, 2026
After ordering the part, I first watched the video several times. Then I placed my phone on my workspace so that I could start and stop the video when following the step-by-step instructions. Then I shut down the refrigerator circuit breaker while I removed the ice container and full ice maker components. I then closed the refrigerator doors to keep the cold air in. I kept starting and stopping the video as I went, as I unplugged wiring components, connection jumpers, the ice maker shutoff...

Door gaskets torn and magnetic seal not working well on Whirlpool French door refrigerator Paul A. • Sewell , NJ • August 28, 2021
Ordered new gaskets from Appliance Parts Pros, arrived in 4 days. Removed old gaskets and replaced by starting at top corner and. Pushing seal into slot. Day before, opened seal boxes and spread seals to smooth out. Took about 10 minutes to replace both door seals. Right door magnetic seal improved but not great. Adjusted level and installed a 1/16” washer in door bottom hinge, which leveled door better and improved the seal strength.

Accumulation of rime ice in freezer on french door refrigerator Raniel S. • Cary , NC • May 13, 2016
Did some online research and everything pointed to the fact that moisture was getting into the freezer and therefore the seal was not doing it's job. I ran my finger along the seal and sure enough I detected cold air coming out of one corner of the seal. I ordered the appropriate part from Appliance Parts Pros (APP) but decided to test my diagnosis by installing thin weather stripping in the affected area. I checked the freezer the next day and saw no accumulation of any more Rime ice so...

The tube w/waterline fill to my ice maker busted Roger B. • Waldorf , MD • June 06, 2014
I ordered the part from ApplianceParts Pro.com and could not believe how fast the part arrived. It arrived by FedX the very next day after I placed the order. The repair suggestions that was given on your web site was right on. The repair was so simple. I was thinking that I was going to disassemble the ice maker to access the connections but with the very simple guidance you provided, the repair took maybe a total of 20 minutes from start to finish. Awsome!!!

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Ice dispenser did not work Magic P. • Riverdale , GA • January 22, 2015
I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. So I advise...

Buttons on control panel did not work some parts missing Suzan F. • Lexington , NC • November 17, 2015
We turned off the circuit breaker. We then removed the light cover and then the control panel. We disconnected the Keyboard, Utah, plugged in the new one and turned the breaker on to see if everything worked. We realized that we did not need a new jazz board so that is being returned. The old Keyboard was removed, the new one attached and all the parts were put back. The frig works fine now at the recommended settings of zero and 38F.

Noisy bearings in condenser fan motor Glenn S. • Eagleville , PA • November 22, 2015
I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector. Remove three mounting screws with 5/16 nut driver. Work fan out to the right past the compressor. I used a pair of pliers, as a lever, behind the plastic fan blades...
