Paul T Perry , GA October 15, 2021 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GZ25FSRXYY5 Water spurting from top of refrigerator The rubber housing at the top end of this hose ruptured. I'm publishing this to share a tip: If, while removing the old hose, you find that you are struggling to pull the old rubber part from the hole in the top of the fridge, STOP. Don't wear your hand out and tear new holes in the housing trying to force it. *IT IS FULL OF SOLID ICE* This is certainly why the thing ruptured in the first place. The rubber plug had filled with ice and when the ice maker tried to fill with water, well, water has to go somewhere. So it busted out at the seam of the rubber housing. I took a blow dryer to it, and it took several minutes, but eventually, enough of the ice melted so that the thing slid out easily. I then made sure that any remaining chunks of ice left inside the ice maker melted. I'm going to fib about how long this repair took, because without the ice blockage it would have taken a hour or so less. I hope this helps someone. :-) Read More... 5 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
