Burner stuck on high or won't adjust temperature? This infinite switch controls heat levels on cooktop elements. DIY repair takes 1-2 hours with power off.
Based on internet search and data found on APPLIANCE PARTS PRO, I deduced that the "infinite control " module was most likely bad. Replaced it and all is good. Toughest part was remembering how to disengage cooktop from down draft blower and then pulling the cook top up in within it's opening. Once pulled up, I put short 2x4's across the opening corners to support the cooktop safely while I worked on it. Next issue was figuring out exactly which screws held the glass top in place. As... If your dual burner only works on high or won't heat at all, this dual infinite switch kit restores full temperature control. Moderate difficulty install.
Replace dual infinity switch. The only difficulty is the terminal labels on the new switch did not match at all with the terminal labels on the original switch. The enclosed instructions were NOT helpful. But I contacted your representative, Johnny, and he was most helpful and patient. From my model number he located very specific and detailed instructions for how to wire the new switch. The rest of the job was easy. Your representative was outstanding. Thanks. Read more

Burner not heating? This surface heating element restores stovetop burners. Updated design eliminates the insulation ring. DIY install under 1 hour.
Range has no model ID plate anywhere. Flip off electric at circuit breaker box. Opened top of range and noted details of the faulty burner, including confirm that outer coil was fried. The maker info on back of element was useless in finding replacement: more useful was general shape, and the numbers around edge on back. Close up range, since low heat element still working. Turns out all Maytag double oven Gemini ranges use the same hi-low element, but double check appearance just in... Read more
Burner not heating or heating unevenly? This surface element restores consistent heat for boiling, simmering, and sautéing. DIY install in 45 minutes.
The instructions that came with the replacement smaller surface heating element provided no help about how to open the top of the range, so I checked the internet. I found several videos on replacement of surface elements in flat top ranges, but none for our particular range, so I Google-searched a simple question, “How to open the top of a 6898VVD Magic Chef range”. The AI Overview answer had several points, most of them not useful, except for the last one: “Hidden Clips: There might be... Read more
Burner not heating or heating unevenly? This surface element restores consistent heat to your cooktop. Moderate DIY repair with basic tools.
Little procrastination paid off. With only 50% capability I knew it is time to call the appliancepartspros. They shipped me parts within 3 days. It was practical to fix both at the time. All I needed was to disconnect power at range breaker box, grab a screwdriver to lift top open, a 16 inch or so piece of old 2×4 wood to keep the top top of stove lifted, so I could access heating elements from underneath. Then I took my black sharpie And marked location of mounting screws and... Read more
Fastening screw for securing components inside appliances. Replaces lost, stripped, or damaged screws during repairs or part installations.
Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. All old screws worked fine. You just need to put a little power to them to get them started. Easy repair. Read more

Burner won't heat or stays on high? This infinite switch controls surface element power levels. Requires countertop removal. Average DIY time: 90 minutes.
I looked on the web firs and saw that it might be a common problem and found quickly the culprit. The switch that control the element has a short cut. I learned from the web that it cost about $50 to replace the switch so I order it and got it quickly. The fun part is to access this part! You have to disconnect the cook top (electricity and vent) Then you have to remove the heavy top and be careful not to break it. From there you put it upside down and remove the part by observing attentively... Read more
The fan control switch is the panel-mounted switch that sends power to the appliance's fan motor. Replacing a worn switch restores reliable on/off control and proper airflow so the fan starts and stops when it should.
After looking at several YouTube videos that were only moderately helpful for my particular model, I disconnected the power at the breaker, disconnected the wires below the cooktop to the junction boxed lifted the whole unit out, including the fan assembly. I flipped it upside down and took off the screws holding the unit to the glass top. Although the new fan switch did not look the same as the original switch, the new switch does fit. The new switch did not come with a hex nut. The old hex... Read more
This is a blower wheel used in the downdraft exhaust ventilation system of a range or cooktop. It mounts on the motor shaft and draws smoke, steam, and cooking odors down and out through the vent ductwork. Replace this part if the exhaust fan is noisy, vibrating excessively, or not moving air effectively despite the motor running.
I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. Read more
This 10-32 terminal block nut fastens wire lugs to the appliance's terminal studs. Replacing a missing, stripped, or corroded nut restores a tight, reliable connection and helps prevent heat damage or intermittent power at the connection.
The oven temperature was low and the heating time excessive. However, the range display showed the requested 400F, even though the oven was really 250F. Because the oven displayed an inaccurate temperature, I ordered an oven sensor, a heating element, and a terminal block. Replacing the heating element fixed the problem. The element I received was the same shape and size, but the supports were not the same. However, I think it must have been a design change after mine was manufactured... Read more
