It was not looking good. I could not order the part I needed as it was part of the door - eve though it had screws att Hong it to the freezer door. At one web site it was a replacement of the whole freezer door!/? Luckily I ventured further and found this repair kit and video instructions. My order arrived in 3 days, and the install (thanks to the video) was easy. A whole lot better than buying a new freezer door - not! Had to replace the auger. The auger on my ice maker was made of plastic and had broken pieces off it. The new one is made of metal and seems to work much better. Was a fairly simple repair. However pay close attention when disassembling, I recommend using your cell phone and snap a pic of the different stages as I became a little confused when putting it back together. The auger would not turn the dispenser because the screw threads were stripped. I could not re-thread it so I had to replace the entire motor assembly. The video your company provided was extremely helpful not only for fixing the problem but to give me the confidence to do it myself. The 20 year old unit still serves us well, looks good and has been kept in good repair. The condenser fan had stopped so I removed, cleaned and oiled that motor. The decision was made to make an upgrade to the evaporator motor and control units so that the appliance could reasonably be expected to have extended service life.
