This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then... A rat had chewed up rubber and plastic parts on my 2 year old GE dishwasher. The parts representative Mary was very helpful and even emailed me pdf's so that we could verify the right parts. I am 70 years young and was one of those former "lonely" Maytag repairmen. :). Having someone take the time to take care of my needs professionally is a big deal. Will call back when I need more parts. Charles C Read more

Found the correct racks on Appliance Parts.com. They shipped as promised. When I received them, however, I couldn't figure out how to replace the top rack. Didn't know how to get the end cap off Sooo - I went back on the website and watched the repair video and voila - was easy. All that was required was a flathead screwdriver and the knowledge of where to use it!!! Replacements in the dishwasher in 5 minutes or less. Great website and very helpful videos. I will recommend this website to... Read more

Although I ordered the latch, lever and a new cup and replace the original pieces the dispenser still did not close. On further inspection it turned out to be a small spring that had fallen out of place. Once the spring was reconnected the dispensing cover worked fine. I'm still happy that I replaced the entire assembly with new parts regardless. Discovering the loose spring took the most time. Read more

The Drain Pump is an OEM component for GE dishwasher models. Located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, this pump works to remove dirty water from the wash cycle and drain it out of the appliance. It is a vital component responsible for fully clearing all water from the dishwasher.

Symptoms of a bad drain pump include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with some Kenmore dishwashers.
I stood by the dishwasher as it went through the cycles and noted the noise only happened during the drain processes. To make this repair you have to take the dishwasher completely out from under the counter. (NOTE: print the schematic to help guide you to the location of the part and connections.) The pump is not accessible from underneath. I laid the dishwasher on its side. I recommend disconnecting the copper fill tubing before laying the machine over (I did not and crimped it). The... The Inlet Sump is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. Located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, the carefully contoured inlet sump collects and transports dirty wash water containing food debris to the filtration system. Its inlet ports and drainage routes optimize flow for thorough cleaning cycles.
Symptoms of a problem with the inlet sump include:
Causes can be normal wear and accumulation of debris over time. Mineral deposits from hard water may also cause drainage issues.
This part is also compatible with Hotpoint and some Kenmore dishwashers.
Replaced with a new Inlet Sump [WD18X213]. It was a little tedious, attaching the Inlet Sump, back to the pump, because I did the job with the dishwasher in place (not pulled out). My dishwasher was plumbed with copper pipe, so I really didn't want to upset that. Also, I had previously replaced the motor and the pump in this dishwasher, so I was familiar with how the Inlet Sump attached to the pump. Again, it's very tight working under the unit while it is still in place, and I wouldn't... Read more
The Drain Hose Kit is an OEM replacement part for GE built-in dishwasher models. It includes flexible tubing and attachments responsible for draining used water from the wash chamber via the internal pump outlet. Symptoms of a bad drain hose include:

Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?". Symptoms of a bad pump and motor assembly include:
This OEM part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
I ordered a new motor through ApplianceParts Pros.com and had the new part within 5 days. The entire replacement took approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours. The repair was relatively simple and straight forward. By doing the work myself I saved over $250. Originally a GE technician quoted a price of $489 to replace the motor to repair the dishwasher. For that price I could have bought a new dishwasher (Electronix Express $491) but not with all the features of my current appliance. By doing the... Read more

Symptoms of a bad spray arm assembly include:
The replacement arm arrived promptly. Removing the old spray arm hub was very difficult by hand, plumbers wrench, or adjustable wrench. However, by inserting a screwdriver trough the two opposite holes where the tabs had broken off, it is relatively easy to unscrew the old hub. Read more
