Pulling the dishwasher, it was obvious we had a slow leak under it. We had a slow leak from the diverter motor area in the sump. Sure enough, it looked like the gasket around a shaft had to be the culprit. The gasket was attached to the sump assembly, or the motor. I determined that the gasket was pinched, leaking at corner. Ordered new gasket from this site (easy find with part diagram). Removed old gasket, replaced with new. Read more

Ordered a new screen and filter. While waiting for arrival, removed wax covered dishes. Carefully removed wax filled filter and screen cover. Stuffed paper towels in hole to absorb water and prevent wax from entering pump. Prayed ????wax had not entered pump. With plastic knife removed visible wax. Wiped out with paper towels. Used entire roll. Used hair dryer to melt remaining wax and wiped every inch of racks, wheels, glides, silverware holder, seal, floor and so forth. Oh yes I did. At 1:30... Read more

I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. I didn't have to buy any parts for the latter part of this little repair project, though. Read more

The schematic diagram and instruction video helped me to disassemble the rack and component hardware pieces. It helped me to determine what was good and what needed replacement. I ordered the broken pieces, re-used the remaining pieces, had them 1-day Fed-Ex delivered, and was up and running the next afternoon! ...even with overnight delivery, still cheaper than a service call. thumbs up! While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out. A common problem with this dishwasher. When disassembling the upper basket, some of the gray plastic pieces were very brittle and easily snapped off. Ran diagnostics 5 times to make sure I get the same error code and then called Appliance Parts Pros to order the washer pump. They informed me they had the pump assembly that has multiple parts on the unit and it was cost effective to order the assembly. I ordered the assembly and after a long back order time received the part. I purchased the service manual and was using that as a guide, then found a real nice you tube link to replace the assembly made by Appliance Parts Pros. This is the link... Read more

Washer would fill, controller made some clicking noises but no washing, then it would empty. Hoped it was circulation pump & not control board so figured I'd roll the dice & order pump assembly.
