Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken dryer drum belt in Maytag model lde8200acw   Jack H. • Kent , WA • December 24, 2019

Started my Maytag dryer (model LDE8200ACW) with a large load early Saturday morning and immediately heard a noticeable thumping noise as the drum turned. Opened the door and checked to make sure some of the laundry hadn’t wadded up and was causing the thumping. Restarted it but the thumping was still present. Did a google search for obvious possible causes for the symptoms but the only suggestion that made sense was to check and make sure the dryer wasn’t rocking on its feet. Checked and found... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You 1 water leaking on the floor at left side and 2 occasionally tub filling a number of inches when sitting   Kenneth S. • San Carlos , CA • April 15, 2016

1. Sleeve for input, Injector valve, nozzle and seal for input fixed this problem. Probably the main part that was the trouble was a deformed Injector Valve which is a rubber tube with an internal retention groove at the wide part that grips the Nozzle. The Sleeve and the Nozzle are hard plastic parts that basically looked fine, but I replaced them anyway while I was in there. Additionally I replaced the rubber Seal for Input which seals the plastic input fitting to the tub just to make sure... Read more

I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. For several months we could smell a slight odor of propane in the laundry room and wondered why, just didn't seem like it was enough to be overly concerned, but thought something must be wrong with the dryer, but it was still working. The Idler Shaft Retaining Ring is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. Also called an "E" ring, it is a sealing gasket positioned between the front and rear housing omponents. Maintaining an airtight seal prevents gas leakage and promotes efficient drying performance.

The Clamp is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This clamp ensures tight and secure connections within the dryer, particularly in securing ducts and vents that are essential for proper airflow and operation.

Symptoms of a bad Clamp include:

  • Loose or detached vents or hoses, leading to inefficient dryer operation.
  • Increased drying times, as a result of compromised airflow from unsecured ducts.
  • Unusual vibrations or noise, indicating that internal components may not be securely fastened.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lack of heat and long drying times   Allan H. • Baroda , MI • March 06, 2016

Our Maytag gas clothes dryer was not drying like it should/used to and was making a lot of noise. After researching online I figured the vent was partially blocked and/or the blower wheel was bad. When I took it apart, the vent had very little lint in the lower elbow exiting the back of the dryer but the blower wheel was loose on the shaft and was missing the clamp. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water from bottom of washer found hose cracked just below the tub   Terry S. • Morgan Hill , CA • April 23, 2014

I replaced the hose between the tub and the pump. The clamp screws were quite rusted but I used a socket wrench on them since they have hex heads in addition to the screwdriver slot. I removed the front panel of the dryer by removing 2 screws and lifting it up and out. Then I removed 4 screws from the bracket holding the tub in place.
