Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Displayed e1 error code the root cause was the sensor (thermistor) that got ripped off of the roof of the freezer   Jon S. • Tuscarora , MD • February 21, 2015

Since I could not find the correct thermistor from the schematic provided, I ordered the thermistor harness for the evaporator. I cut the harness and spliced it to the sheared thermistor wires on the roof of the freezer compartment. It now works fine with a little "farmer ingenuity" help. Samsung was absolutely no help at all, but the guy that I spoke with over the phone at APP sure was. This site is now my "go to" for appliance parts! Tip for others with this model. Do not overfill the upper... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Samsung french door hinge flap hinge broken from spring   Herman F. • Ventura , CA • April 20, 2016

I loosened middle hinge by the 2 screws which holds a power cord that clips together, then slid the hinge flap upward to release from the door. My bottom clip hinge was broken away from spring and the only way to attach a new hinge clip was to carefully separate the hinge flap. This can be done by squeezing the flap to see where the separation seams are. Small narrow screwdrivers along with a spatula will do without damaging the plastic. This allowed for acess to the spring which connects to a... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Samsung french door refrigerator left and right door gaskets were split out and mildewed   Louis V. • Houston , TX • August 20, 2016

First, I removed the old gaskets, which was a very easy task since they are held in the doors by rubber beads in recessed slots. I installed the new right door gasket in less than 10 minutes by gradually pushing the retainer bead into the door recessed slot with finger pressure until it was seated properly. The left door bead was somewhat more difficult to install into the bead slot, because the recessed bead slot is covered by a hinged flap on its left edge that doesn't permit easy access....
