Background: Roper Electric Dryer model REX6634RQ0 purchased new in early 2006 by my wife. Dryer use profile is low to moderate as it was used by only one person (working from home) from 2006 to late 2007 then moved and stored in a dry basement until mid 2009. Moved and used by primarily just two people (plus occasional children visits) from mid-2009 thru late 2011 with three moves involved with in that time. The timer knob simply pulls off the shaft with a solid, steady pull. Cleaned the timer cavity of lint/dust buildup. Aligned the keying flat of the shaft and knob and pushed the new knob on with careful, steady pressure until it was obviously seated. No tools required other than a vacuum. The door switch would sometimes not shut the dryer off when the door was opened. New switch came with new fast-on connectors. It was a really simple fix, and I kick myself for waiting so long to attempt the repair. Following the YouTube video, I had the old motor out and the new one in in approximately 10 minutes. I even felt the satisfaction of having completed a repair project. Read more

I was trying to troubleshot a problem I had with my GE dryer not starting. I went to AppliancePartsPros.com because they have excellent DYI videos on how to make repairs. I determined that the problem was in the push start switch. I ordered the switch online and it took 3 days to arrive. It took 5 minutes to replace the switch and the dryer works perfectly. Read more

I had to take the top panels off and two back panels off. Took off about thirty screws. It was very dirty and dusty inside so I took the lower panels off as well to clean and vacuum it. The hardest part was getting the double oven out of the cabinet. Overall it was very doable. Read more

After researching the problem, I ordered a new cooling fan. My "fix-it" guy winds up in the ICU for 3 weeks! So...YouTube here I come. It appeared pretty simple in video form, except the video wasn't of my stove. All in all, what looked like no more than a 6 screw removal, turned into tearing 1/2 the stove apart. Diagnosed the problem by seeing the lower fan was not turning. Didn't have any squeaks or sounds as a warning sign... It just stopped working. Went to AppliancePartsPros.com typed in my make & model number (Samsung NE58F9710WS). The web site pulled up the parts schematic, I navigated to the part on the schematic (Assembly #8 - Assy Motor Convection-Re DG96-00110B / AP5580897) and ordered it "Express Shipping" because I need the oven for Thanksgiving. • Fridge too warm

Replaced the Thermistor Assembly and also picked up Overload Protection circuit per the comments posted by the "experts" on the web site. Both parts cheap enough. I ordered parts at 3:30 in the afternoon and they showed up the next morning from half way across the country. Outstanding service. It also fixed the 9 year old refrigerator. Replacing the parts took about a half hour most of which was moving the unit from the wall and removing the panel to get at the parts. Read more

Our Maytag gas clothes dryer was not drying like it should/used to and was making a lot of noise. After researching online I figured the vent was partially blocked and/or the blower wheel was bad. When I took it apart, the vent had very little lint in the lower elbow exiting the back of the dryer but the blower wheel was loose on the shaft and was missing the clamp. Looked up my model number, went to top control panel section, ordered the Start Switch. In ONE DAY I received it. Removed the back part of my dryer. Easily removed the broken part. I am so blessed. I went online. Found the brackets. Watch the video for the brackets I chose. And lucky me. I did not have to pull the dishwasher out. The installer did not have it flush under the counter. So I was able to pull the dishwasher forward unhook the damage brackets and insert the new. Put the dishwasher back in. Two screws. I removed the front panel of the dryer and the metal cover over the blower wheel. Removed the lock ring and clamp. Removed the old wheel and placed the new wheel on the shaft. I thoroughly cleaned all the lint around the area and inside the front cover. I resealed the metal cover over the blower and reinstalled the front cover. Dryer works great. Easy fix, I spent more time thoroughly cleaning all the lint. Read more
