I watched a video on how to change these. I had ordered one a month ago because one had failed. I had no trouble --less than 30 seconds -- to insert a new for the bad one. Then a few weeks later, a 2nd one failed -- there are 4 of them -- and I figured that I might as well change out the bad one as well as the two "good" original ones. The Dryer is 10 years old GE Front Load DPVH890JEMG. The drum would intermittently not rotate at the beginning of a cycle and occasionally would rotate but then start and stop throughout the cycle. Replaced the Rollers, Pins, belt and belt tensioner. One thing to keep in mind. In the video it was said that the back and front roller pins were different by lengths. They were the same length for my model. The differences were found to be the rear pins have left handed threads and the front ones were standard right hand threads. Keep that in-mind when you are trying to remove them. Read more

The part just snaps on the basket. You have to remove the clips on the end of the runner arms to be able to remove the basket. Once it was out the old arm snap off and you snap on the new arm. Only problem was my old arm was fine and I wished the company would just sell the gasket. It seems a waste to have to purchase the whole arm. Our Maytag gas clothes dryer was not drying like it should/used to and was making a lot of noise. After researching online I figured the vent was partially blocked and/or the blower wheel was bad. When I took it apart, the vent had very little lint in the lower elbow exiting the back of the dryer but the blower wheel was loose on the shaft and was missing the clamp. I removed the front panel of the dryer and the metal cover over the blower wheel. Removed the lock ring and clamp. Removed the old wheel and placed the new wheel on the shaft. I thoroughly cleaned all the lint around the area and inside the front cover. I resealed the metal cover over the blower and reinstalled the front cover. Dryer works great. Easy fix, I spent more time thoroughly cleaning all the lint. Read more

The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts.
