Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. I first read some threads on the topic and figured out it was probably the ice maker. I found the part cheaper somewhere else but if it wasn't the problem I couldn't return it. I figured it was worth a little extra money to be able to return it if I was wrong and it was something else. I ordered the part watched the tutorial on YouTube , and replaced it. This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. Order replacement parts to replace the PCB controller that showed clear signs of the main power shorting out. I did have concerns that the replacement controller came with wiring and the PCB for the touch interface but the service center explained I had to replace all the components in the kit since GE did a software update. I replaced the auger motor. You have to remove complete ice maker. Everything is just like help video to do except yoke dispenser. I watched video several times. Yoke will not just tap loose, after 30 minutes of tapping, I was using screwdriver to brace. I used a Dremel tool to cut part of shaft, came off easy then. After that, the repair went great. I have ice, I noticed motor I received was stronger. Parts came on time stated and worked great. I will order again on other repairs. Read more
