Ordered door latch part and new spring. You Tube video helped me identify what I needed. I tried the fix recommended and it didn't work so I ordered the parts. It took less than 5 minutes to switch out the old for the new. If the door doesn't latch, you can't run the microwave and it's key. It wasn't an expensive or hard fix to get my microwave up and running again. So pleased with AppliancePartsPros for having what I needed and being reasonable about pricing. Pretty easy fix. Took out 7-8 screws to remove cover for access to light. 2 were security type screws so I had to run to the hardware store to buy a special screwdriver. One screw to remove the bulb. Read more

Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Came up with next control item upstream and tallied that item failure with percentages of successful repairs, (4 mins.) door safety switch. Found the fix description online - purchased the Door Latch Bracket. I did need to remove the Microwave from the cabinet it was built into. Required removing the screws at the four corners of the trim piece surrounding the microwave. Then removed the oven with the frame bracket attached - removed the bracket, then needed a star shaped secure screwdriver to remove the microwave skin around the sides and top (remove the secure screws from the back and slide the skin toward the back and off). ... First, it was going to cost $95 for an appliance guy just to look at it! I figured there would be an upcharge on the parts + labor on top of the $95, so I took a chance & decided my husband & I could fix it cheaper; we were right, but it was a 3 week process (luckily, we have another microwave in the basement we were able to use in the meantime). I have a multimeter so I was able to check the fuse per website recommendations and it was blown. However, the capacitor on the microwave was also original so I elected to replace the capacitor, fuse, and the ground protect diode. The repair was very simple (making sure the capacitor was discharged before replacing) and the microwave is now up and running again. I googled the make and model, and found the part on AppliancePartsPros.com. The underside of the oven has a metal grille with numerous openings of various shapes and sizes. There is a rectangle that is punched into this grille, just below the motor. I pried between the vent holes to snap the connections near the perimeter on the punched rectangle. In addition to blown fuse; the fuse holder was melted at one end. Checked the unit to see if any part or wiring that would cause the issue, none was visible. Referred to wiring diagram included inside to identify components, including interlocks. All seemed functional. Bought replacement 20A fuse. Fuse holder no longer available so bought similar unit with 25A rating - little retrofitting. Put unit back together, and it's working so far. Wife is happy. Read more

Contacted several local places, & on line. However none carried the part or made it difficult, which I realized they just didn't know how to look for the part I wanted. I contacted appliance parts, & they immediately found it & it was not as expensive as other places who did not stock it to begin with. They sent it right away, & I received it in less than 3 days.
